January Transfer Window 2026

Across January, the Sky Sports transfer window ticker will countdown in milliseconds in an attempt to whip up a trading frenzy amongst their viewers, but all our experience demonstrates how challenging the winter market is to deliver quality and value. We will work towards identifying and executing opportunities that will make us stronger in the long term. But these opportunities will need to be exceptional, and we will avoid short-term fixes that will weaken our hand for phase two of our rebuild next summer

From Angus Kinnear.
Don't be getting excited about January folks. As expected. We wont be doing much

I hope it’s better than phase one, which has left us devoid of quality and numbers in certain areas and with several players the manager doesn’t play.

I took this to mean that we'll only be after the very best talent for the long term.

It seems not. You can only assume from that they are planning another fairly reasonable spend during the summer and wish too keep their powder dry atm. Does seem slightly odd as the league is fairly tight and it wouldn't take that much to give us a bit extra too challenge for a European spot imo.

I think Angus's statement is we've made progress. We aren't going to splurge in the Jan window.
We will look at what we can do in the summer
Look it's steady progress. Yes it's frustrating but it's what most sensible posters were asking for.

Anyway we need to use both our loan slots as soon as possible and try to put together some deals to address our current squad deficiencies
I never understand why any club outside the asshole ones don't use every loan spot. We are horribly short of quality in both fullbacks positions, there wasn't ONE player in world football who we could have loaned in?

You challenge for Europe and your appeal suddenly rises, better quality players will then listen in the summer.

It's a strange one, but it is a tough window.
