January Transfer Window 2026

I don't put anyone on ignore & it was a post by someone else wishing the two true blue Evertonian's had purchased us - but BK & the Mosh nearly bankrupted us - so I suppose we have to be thankful our club just survived ....
That deal was never happening though.
It was talk, nothing concrete.

That's a fair point mate.

It's not like they all got together and decided as a group is it? 'Asia Cup is every 4 years' does not translate to 'AFCON should see that and go oh okay then if they're happy with it then we should know our place and feel the same'.

A tourney every two years in a continent where football is the biggest sport and they lose every single one of their good players to richer more powerful countries is sound by me. More power to em, I'm glad they're sticking it to the Premier League etc. They could live with it being every 4 - yeah and we can also live with it being every 2.

This 'they should be happy with their lot' approach is weird to me and honestly is fundamentally a tory philosophy but that's starting to go too off topic so I'll shut up now 😅

Such a weird post honestly. Nobody is asking for them to accept less than everyone else. Why are you making strawmen up and then somehow linking it back to… erm… the Tories?

This is now the AFCON thread?

Its meant to be the transfer thread.
AFCON is a major factor in how we conduct our transfer business in January.

People are wanting to bin the tournament off as a two year event to make it every four years so that we are not so short of players.

Hopefully this will not be so great a factor next time the tournament happens.

We need a right back, a centre mid and a striker, get to work 😉

Yes but we don’t also play the Euros in the January of a World Cup year in addition to that do we? Just out of curiosity, would you be in favour of us adding another Euros every World Cup year?

You’ve failed to convince me that the AFCON needs to be every 2 years I’m afraid.
It is what it is.
With the expanded format of most major international tournaments especially the Euros and the introduction of the European nations cup to make friendly matches into more competitive games to view, we are already maxed out.
