Not many Evertonians are too upset today having gone out of this dead end trophy. Yes its silverware albeit of a low grade, reminds me of our cup winners cup victory in that its cool to mention if someone asks but its not what its all about.

Now we can finally concentrate on our league campaign with the F.A cup as a solitary distraction once christmas is out the way and hopefully we will have settled into some sort of pace

WTF?!!!!

Do you know what ? I regretted writing that but couldn't be arsed to correct it but seeing as you have pulled me about it I will say that it provided a few great nights none of us will forget but it isnt a European cup triumph is it ? Brag to a United or Liverpool supporter about Rotterdam and they just laugh

I could give a **** about them. You know the old format of the EC could be about as competitive as the ECWC.

It's a European trophy. The end.

It is but its certainly not the end. We will be back its just that its taking alot longer than many of us thought. I am now 37 and I am still f*cking waiting

I said last night that i didn't blame the loss on Moyes selections and i still don't, we've lost plenty of cup games against lower league teams with far stronger teams than we had last night.

So you need to look at the overall picture and ask why a team who have constantly been in the top 8 of the Premier league have lost so many times to inferior opposition in cup games.

Its ok to say the players just didn't play well but why does it happen so often? Different players over the years but one constant : Moyes.

Has to be mentality.

ye but you cant expect to work as hard as we do and not suffer from fatigue.

we lack quality compared to other teams but make up for it by hard work, the downside of this is you cant expect to keep up the work rate we have for an entire season playing the same 11, were not the team that can play badly and still walk away with the win

and you have to give it to the players giving it 110% week in week out and we havent even had european football to show for it over the last 3 seasons.

There's 5 games left in the competition for the two teams who get to the final.

If we win our 5 games that fall immediately after a league cup dates then arguably we've benefitted. In truth though, this only counts if those 15 points go towards achieving a top 4 place.
