Isnt targeting infrastructure that civilians rely on a War Crime? Israel stopping Water and other utilities doesnt hit the target, just the innocent, as always.
Even in “better times”, Israel limits the water supply to Palestinian Territories to, I believe, five days a week. That’s why there are so many makeshift water containers on the rooftops in Palestine as they need to be filled before the water is shut off

Didn't some Israeli minister/ army spokesman say the rules of war are rewritten following the rave attack?

There will be a lot of suffering inflicted. Israel demands its retribution No doubt it will escalate the atrocities from both sides and it will just get worse before anything gets resolved if ever.
Truth on so many counts.

only ones whoever suffer are the people.

Rules to suit, as and when required.

I think this will escalate. massively

Im sure this happens all the time, the fact they publicly announce it, means they give no crap about any such conventions, not that any side ever does in relaity, Rules of War to me are somewaht trite as in the throes of war, I imagine you do what you can to survive/emerge.

Al so very sad.

What a world we have become.

Soooo glad that the US/UK/EU governments have offered their backing to these guys <3
Apparently, those notorious warmongers Luxembourg, Denmark, and Ireland had their suggestion to include language about preventing escalation thrown out of the EU statement.

This is very dangerous. People in those counties and in the wider EU who are upset at this might begin to question their support for those countries that the EU deems worthy of support.

The IDF haven't thought an actual ground 'war' in a long time, so the assumption that they're still a top-tier fighting force is that - an assumption.

This means the days of fighting on two-sides isn't going to be done readily, so I suspect behind the scenes there'll be some negotiations with Arab states.

Also, fighting in the streets of Gaza brings with it great risks to the IDF as their offensive capabilities can be reduced by the asymmetrical warfare that'll happen.

I have a feeling that they're going to try and force a capitulation through limiting food, water and fuel, while lobbing their air power and artillery into the mix.

I agree entirely about the massive problems they’d have if they went in, but Bibi and the gang around him are mad enough, and personally at risk enough, to want a bloodbath.

I note with alarm that he’s still not agreed a national unity government, even with the opposition agreeing to back him in exchange for binning off the lunatics and freezing his constitutional changes (which have caused so much division over there).

As was pointed out earlier by someone (I forget who, so apologies to them) the fact a lot of our media cut that last bit out speaks volumes.

Why has our government, and the EU, given the appearance of backing this (I say “appearance of” because there’s enough weasel words like proportional and reasonable put in there to claim afterwards they didn’t back what the Israelis ended up doing)? The focus has to be on restoring peace, preventing further horror and recovering hostages. Then it’s got to be the international community dealing with this once and for all.
