Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

What Israel needs to focus on is neutralising the roaming Hamas terrorist threat in southern Israel, securing the borders with the Gaza Strip, then negotiate prisoner/hostage exchanges to get their people out of Gaza. Then it needs to work on eliminating only the military, financial and command/control elements of Hamas.

What Israel shouldn’t be doing (like they’re doing now) is bombing the crap out of Gaza before s ground incursion.

That’s just targeting hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians and it will bring Hezbollah onto this in a big way. Once Hezbollah are in and I’m talking ballistic / cruise missiles flying at Israeli cities - the US will intervene against Hezbollah. At that point all bets are off and we are into serious US v Iran / Russia situation.

Israel needs to pull back and think long and hard about its next steps because they will have serious global consequences.

The IDF haven't thought an actual ground 'war' in a long time, so the assumption that they're still a top-tier fighting force is that - an assumption.

This means the days of fighting on two-sides isn't going to be done readily, so I suspect behind the scenes there'll be some negotiations with Arab states.

Also, fighting in the streets of Gaza brings with it great risks to the IDF as their offensive capabilities can be reduced by the asymmetrical warfare that'll happen.

I have a feeling that they're going to try and force a capitulation through limiting food, water and fuel, while lobbing their air power and artillery into the mix.
Very true

So, how do the people of Palestine respond to this:

They have waited decades for the world to call Israel out on this but it never happens, instead daily land grabs and violence

There is only one side to blame here, not for these attacks but the bigger picture.

There needs to be acceptance of a two state solution from both sides and the will to make if work. Problem is you get radicals (on both sides) that continue to commit terrorist attacks. This what eventually put paid to the good work by the PLO as people turn to hardliners and that kicked off a lot of the land grabs you see in your picture.

There are people so indoctrinated that this conflict gives them purpose and we'll keep seeing the atrocious scenes forever until one side has had enough.

Of course it will never happen, but the first step in resolution of the problem is for Israel to return to the area given to It in 1947.
It has been encroaching and stealing land ever since.

Absolutely. People talk about two state solution but the Palestinians rightly do not want to give up any of their land (obviously too late now). They were never given an option here. It baffles me when people question their anger

Germany and Austria suspending se ding aid to Palestine. EU have not covered themselves in glory here.

The ultimate victims are going to be the thousands of Palestinians who are going to ve slaughtered and starved to death in the coming weeks.

Hamas should be condemned for their actions over the last few days but ultimately it will cause untold suffering for the citizens of Gaza and beyond.

Then Palestinians should aid in the destruction of Hamas.

I think the problem is that apathete across the middle east is used by most countries, it seems that Israel is the only one called out on it..

Hillel Neuer Made the following address at the UN human rights council.

"Israel’s 1.5 million Arabs, whatever challenges they face, enjoy full rights to vote and to be elected in the Knesset, they work as doctors and lawyers, they serve on the Supreme Court.

Now I’d like to ask the members of that commission, that commissioned that report, the Arab states from which we just heard. Egypt, Iraq, and the others:

How many Jews live in your countries? How many Jews live in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco? Once upon a time, the Middle East was full of Jews.

Algeria had 140,000 Jews. Algeria, where are your Jews?

Egypt used to have 75,000 Jews. Where are your Jews?

Syria, you had tens of thousands of Jews. Where are your Jews?

Iraq, you had over 135,000 Jews. Where are your Jews?

Mr. President, where is the apartheid?

Why is there a U.N. commission on the Middle East that does not include Israel? From the 1960s and the ‘70s they refuse to include Israel. Where is the apartheid, Mr. President?

Mr. President, why are we meeting today on an agenda item singling out only one state, the Jewish state, for targeting.

Where is the apartheid, Mr. President?"

He was met with total silence.

Quotes there are spot on.

They respond by aiding in the destruction of Hamas.

That’s BS sorry

These countries do have Jews living there as not all we’re expelled or left for Israel and if those that stayed all have citizenship and full access to the state.

Palestinians live under occupation and military rule with no right to vote or have a say over the policies that government them, that’s the apartheid Mr President.

They do not have the same rights as Jews do in the West Bank, cannot use certain roads and travel freely in their own land there’s the apartheid Mr President.

They cannot leave the country without Israeli permission and cannot get building permits or start businesses in there own lands, there’s your apartheid Mr President.

Oh and by the way Arabs make up about 20% of Israel’s population just research testimony of the discrimination they face by the state compared to the Jewish citizens…..

Youre saying there currently a large number of Jews in Iran and Syria for example?

Theyre being treated better than arabs in Israel?

Show your workings.

I was nodding my head at alot of this. They need to have the sole focus on Hamas.

Wipe them out.

However, Hamas will be using all means necessary to hide. Whether forcing people to let them into their homes or offices...even hospitals and other sensitive locations.

They also need to show strength after the attack and must have a strategy to gain a foothold in the hostage negotiations.

Otherwise, Hamas can say they have 100+ hostages and they want every terrorist in jail to be released.

What happens then with countries who have had hostages taken putting pressure on Israel?

Lets say all the hostages are released, but everyone in Israeli jails are also released.

What happens then?

The 1967 "green line" is the generally accepted border for a Palestinian state, but there are now massive settlement blocs that reach from Jerusalem way over the "border".

Not even the most hardline think 1948 partition plan is the basis for an agreement.

Mind you, the most hardline think the other shouldn't even exist.
