Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

The perpetual tit for tat violence will always be there unless one side demonstrate that change is possible. If I lived next door to Mike Tyson going around and trying to punch him in the face over a territory dispute is not going to make my situation any better.
No but it would be understandable if he cut your water off, restricted your travel and negatively impeded every part of your daily life.

There is a lot of assumption there - if this conflict doesn’t end with a rapid military victory for the IDF, the combination of an apparent loss of military dominance and the sight of Palestinians being starved to death could easily result in regional moves to force the Israelis to stop it.

This is not the 90s/00s where there’s an unchallenged hegemon backing them up, these countries by themselves have a lot more power now and there’s always China and Russia in the background. Israel could find itself in a very dangerous place indeed very quickly.
It. Won't. Happen.

Cheers.

Them trying to take on the Israelis will not bring justice, more suicide. Roping in other Arab countries with bigger militaries will just pull the US into conflict and then how many will die in vain? The only way forward is for the Palestinians to denounce violence and have a democracy that pushes for better conditions and integration over time. I may not agree with what Israel have done but at the end of the day if you have a section that want to kill you constantly then you will put up barriers to stop that. Only time and trust will allow that to change, will that ever happen? Doubt it due to the ingrained hate. I just feel sad for the children that are denied a half decent life due to the warmongers that are happy to see their own people die for the 'cause'.

Problem is if the Palestinians did that nothing will change as there is no will by western governments especially the US to hold the Israelis to account for what they have done.

If the Palestinians laid down their arms the Israelis will just carry on knowing the world won’t care…..that’s the problem.

The USA just don’t care about the Palestinian narrative at all, so the status quo will continue which is just how Israel likes it……they stealing more land by stealth.

I’d refer you to the statements that have come out of Arab / Muslim capitals and organisations after these attacks - only the Iranians have celebrated it, but the rest have (correctly) said the violence can only be stopped by the end of the occupation and that Israel bears responsibility (as the occupier) for the overall situation.

They are not just going to sit there and twiddle thumbs if their voices aren’t heard and the Israelis do what they are threatening to do.

Germany and Austria suspending se ding aid to Palestine. EU have not covered themselves in glory here.

The ultimate victims are going to be the thousands of Palestinians who are going to ve slaughtered and starved to death in the coming weeks.

Hamas should be condemned for their actions over the last few days but ultimately it will cause untold suffering for the citizens of Gaza and beyond.

I think the problem is that apathete across the middle east is used by most countries, it seems that Israel is the only one called out on it..

Hillel Neuer Made the following address at the UN human rights council.

"Israel’s 1.5 million Arabs, whatever challenges they face, enjoy full rights to vote and to be elected in the Knesset, they work as doctors and lawyers, they serve on the Supreme Court.

Now I’d like to ask the members of that commission, that commissioned that report, the Arab states from which we just heard. Egypt, Iraq, and the others:

How many Jews live in your countries? How many Jews live in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco? Once upon a time, the Middle East was full of Jews.

Algeria had 140,000 Jews. Algeria, where are your Jews?

Egypt used to have 75,000 Jews. Where are your Jews?

Syria, you had tens of thousands of Jews. Where are your Jews?

Iraq, you had over 135,000 Jews. Where are your Jews?

Mr. President, where is the apartheid?

Why is there a U.N. commission on the Middle East that does not include Israel? From the 1960s and the ‘70s they refuse to include Israel. Where is the apartheid, Mr. President?

Mr. President, why are we meeting today on an agenda item singling out only one state, the Jewish state, for targeting.

Where is the apartheid, Mr. President?"

He was met with total silence.

Yeah I understand. My in-laws have only just got out of a similar situation and I can fully empathise with them. They need to get America onside by converting to a democracy instead of being controlled by a terrorist group and work with for aid, for protection of designated borders and so on. Presidents with a sniff of the Nobel peace prize may go for it and be able rein back Israel.

I'm not naive enough to think this could happen by the way, there are too many inside Gaza that would work from within to prevent it from being possible. In a nutshell though they've given Israel the equivalent of a bloody nose (of course the lose of life is devastating but the world still turns) and for that they've had buildings blown up and their essentials turned off heading into colder months. As I said before you can understand targeted strikes but this was truly sickening and it hasn't done anything for their cause other than make conditions worse and throw more support behind Israel.

So, how do the people of Palestine respond to this:

They have waited decades for the world to call Israel out on this but it never happens, instead daily land grabs and violence

There is only one side to blame here, not for these attacks but the bigger picture.

That’s BS sorry

These countries do have Jews living there as not all we’re expelled or left for Israel and if those that stayed all have citizenship and full access to the state.

Palestinians live under occupation and military rule with no right to vote or have a say over the policies that government them, that’s the apartheid Mr President.

They do not have the same rights as Jews do in the West Bank, cannot use certain roads and travel freely in their own land there’s the apartheid Mr President.

They cannot leave the country without Israeli permission and cannot get building permits or start businesses in there own lands, there’s your apartheid Mr President.

Oh and by the way Arabs make up about 20% of Israel’s population just research testimony of the discrimination they face by the state compared to the Jewish citizens…..

The IDF haven't thought an actual ground 'war' in a long time, so the assumption that they're still a top-tier fighting force is that - an assumption.

This means the days of fighting on two-sides isn't going to be done readily, so I suspect behind the scenes there'll be some negotiations with Arab states.

Also, fighting in the streets of Gaza brings with it great risks to the IDF as their offensive capabilities can be reduced by the asymmetrical warfare that'll happen.

I have a feeling that they're going to try and force a capitulation through limiting food, water and fuel, while lobbing their air power and artillery into the mix.

Yes, brutal, murderous and ultimately futile. Yet everyone knows the plight of the Palestinians, the ordinary, peaceful workaday Palestinians. And who cares for them? When is the world concerned for them? Why is it fine for a foreign state to subjugate them?
They are not helped by the terror groups, their cause is diminished by the terror groups who claim to represent them. But they are not helped by anyone. We turn a blind eye to their oppressors and we tut tut about their inability to govern themselves. Know whose fault this is?
