Thats the thing though, its not as if Palestinians have done this...not ALL of them.

Its a terror organisation that have done this with support from a % of Palestinians, Iran and Russia.

That terrorist group needs to be eradicated along with ALL of its supporters and the Iranian and Russian leadership.

Unfortunately a number of people in this thread seem to be 'enjoying' kidnapping and murder of civilians while pretending to support the Ukrainian innocents at the same time.

Its warped to watch photos and videos and gleefully comment:

So, if Israel stood alone, do you think it would survive, you know, without the funding and arms supplies from the US, the political support from the West and the market capital that filters its way to fund Israeli covet actions, even into British politics?
I've never seen such a one sided blinkered bias on a subject on these boards as yours. A totally hypocritical view on historical and real time events that sits along side some of the worst revisionism I can think of. Shameful.

the $6 billion wasn't paid by the US to Iran - the US never had the money in the first place (it was in a South Korean bank, having been part of a legal deal to buy Iranian oil)

You defining them as a terror group doesn't make it fact. The Palestinians have been made homeless and treated like third class citizens by Israel. Without a formal state then any armed parties are going to be termed terror groups, as opposed to a legitimate state army, in the eyes of their opponents aren't they? So by definition they would always be terrorists?

This conflict area has gone on for decades. There are no clear winners or rights and wrongs.

Sense of victory among Iranian officials’: AJ correspondent

Reporting from Tehran, Al Jazeera’s Dorsa Jabbari says there has been a sense of victory for Iranian officials as a result of the Hamas attack on Israel on Saturday.

“We have just heard from the chief of staff of the armed forces, Mohammad Bagheri, second in command in Iran after the supreme leader. He issued a statement congratulating the Palestinian fighters and he also said that he hopes that they will be able to take control of Al-Aqsa Mosque as well. He said that this is a monumental occasion and it shows that really Israel is not as strong as many believed it to be,” Jabbari said.

“He also went on to say that the will of the oppressed people will be victorious. This is a sentiment we have heard over the past 24 hours from a number of officials in Iran,” she added.

Jabbari noted that the general public in Iran is certainly concerned about the events that have unfolded in terms of what it would mean for their own safety down the line.

Do Gaza residents support Hamas’s tactics?

Tamer Qarmout, head of the public administration programme at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, says that while Hamas is popular in Gaza, it is unclear if all Palestinians in the enclave support its tactics.

Speaking to Al Jazeera, he said this is because there have been no elections in the region and the democratic will of the people is unknown.

“In Israel, it is a democratic government and things are clear, we know what the Israeli people want. But the Palestinian society in Gaza and the occupied West Bank is fragmented,” he said.

“The Palestinian split is designed by Israel and the international community. Of course, the Palestinians are responsible as well. But the de facto player is Israel which controls Palestinian politics. Hamas also functions under Israel’s instructions,” Qarmout explained.

“So Palestinians have no say on even sitting and trying to create a neutral platform to have a political dialogue amongst themselves,” he added.
