The methods may be different but the attack on Israel today has been happening on Palestine for years and years.

Sadly, the people who will pay the biggest price are innocent civilians.

They have national service for 2.5/3 years. All those have served are subject to compulsory recall as a reservist up to the age of 40.

It depends on how you measure 'victory', the Israelis measure it in land grabs and the murders of Palestinian children and women. My understanding is the Palestinians measure it by continued resistance despite the war crimes and horrors of illegal occupation (as deemed by the UN and other agencies) they continue to live under.
There is an absolutely huge irony of the way Israel 'deals' with'the Palestinian' problem, not just by rhetoric but by daily action.

I don't blame them for fighting back, everyone would in their place, but slaughtering civilians on the streets, desecrating bodies, lynching prisoners etc... is not gonna buy them public sympathy.

Even people who sympathize with them and their cause can't publicly defend them when those kind of images come in force. They will never beat powerful pro-Israeli propaganda (in the West) but they don't need to give them tools.

However, this show of resistance will lead to more devestation than they could have imagined. Iran needs to tread very carefully too, carry on celebrating the 'victory' and it's population comes into the firing line.

The rich Gulf neighbours will turn and blind eye, as usual, Lebanon will forget it's own broken country for a while and shake their fists but that's about it.

They will not attack Iran directly (or vice versa) but you can expect some "mysterious explosion" or assassination soon over there. In same way Iran fund and train Hamas and other such organizations in Syria and Lebanon to attack Israel. Its classic proxy war.
