No democracy for the Palestinians and the aggressive settler community attacking the Palestinian populations then hiding behind the IDF.

Palestinians cannot go from village/Town without permission from Israel.

Cannot get building permits in any Israeli controlled lands including Jerusalem

Cannot leave the country without Israeli permission

Cannot marry who they like without Israeli interference

Cannot use roads to get to schools or hospitals without harassment from IDF checkpoints

Houses destroyed at will without legal recourse

Live under harsh military rule whilst illegal settlers live under civilian rule.

Murders journalists who try and report on these points by sniper
These points are the very definition of apartheid, now not condoning what’s happened with hamas but no one can say it wasn’t coming.

What annoys me is the western media and government bias which is willing to turn a blind eye to Israeli aggressions but condemn all of the Palestinians aggression.

I'm going to do my best to stay out of this. I'm gobsmacked at some of the rabid, pig-ignorant, and stultifyingly ill-informed ahistorical takes I've read, and engagement with strangers on the internet on this subject are fruitless.

Thoughts with the innocent people who have been affected, and I hope that calm prevails soon. This is a truly frightening escalation.

Israel continues to deny electricity into Gaza, which is only going to cause more suffering for the general population.

Furthermore, worrying rumours of a large ground offensive including tanks and APCs starting before tomorrow morning, with the plan to take all of Gaza.

This isn't going to end well as it'll convince Washington to support the IDF even more.

That’s why I am raging at Hamas for what they did…..not only will it set the Palestinian cause back years but thousands of innocent people will die.

But if governments held Israeli policy towards the Palestinians go account maybe this could have been avoided ?
