I think you're being over emotive for the sake of scoring a point.
I've worked many a remembrance day in amongst the great and good (sic), civic and military. To a man, or woman, all the old servicemen I spoke with, who told me tales of the Somme and Dunkirk, kept quiet reflection on the horrors of war, and you could see that in their faces. They spoke about freedom from oppression, why they fought for a just cause against the nazis, and how they never wanted to see the same hatred for people that the nazis showed.
And yet, here we are, watching it live on the telly. By 'Israelis'.
I think those who fought in the last world war would understand and support anything to quell a repeat of what they went through.
