Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

Absolutely. Any nation considered not a friend of the west would be in a world of trouble for actions like this. It is so transparent the way western leaders (in general) are staying quiet, its disgusting.

It’s the biggest evidence there is of how corrupted they’ve become - I mean the support for Israel isn’t from popular feeling, or morality, or because of our own strategic interests; it’s because they’ve been lobbied into it.

Absolutely! I don't believe for a minute that Starmer doesnt see the war crimes its just he knows he cannot say as such. Look at what happened to Corbyn when he spoke for Palestine. It would probably cost Starmer his job even though he would be 100% correct. The depth of this corruption literally reaches the top echelons of society.

A recent map of the tunnels shows the areas of infrastructure that Israel is going to target. There has to be a way of getting civilians out of these areas or it will most likely see thousands more killed as Israel attempts to get rid of this network. The awful reality is that this Hamas network is underneath civilian areas.

And so the answer, to any civilised nation is to look for alternative means of approach. Unfortunately, it suits Bibi down to the ground to be able to mix a bit of ethnic cleansing/genocide with a bit of terrorist killing.

That’s the thing - there’s no depth to it, it’s only the top of the media and political world that are affected.

That poll the other week showed that 76% of those surveyed wanted an immediate ceasefire, and that was when the casualties were half what they are now, and before the ground invasion went in. Starmer, Sunak and the rest are stood on mounds of sand watching the tide come in.

An hour of songs by the Palestinian liberation movement

it opens with them saying 'you steal our tents and you create guerrillas'

Tbf, Hamas slaughtered 1400 of his people a couple of weeks back and so a serious reaction was to be expected. If their planning is to eradicate the terror group behind this and its network there is little the world can do other than try to keep innocent civilians out of the way. This isn't happening, and right now moving these people seems to the the immediate priority. The challenge is that Hamas will not want them moved, and will want many more killed as that is the only way they achieve their aims and the only way that they come out of this intact i.e. to have so many Gazans killed that an alliance to destroy Israel is formed.

Sadly for Gazans it seems many have retreated to their corners and are pointing and shouting at each other.

There needs to be a pause in the fighting. The civilians need to be evacuated during this.

Blinken just touched down in Tel Aviv. Expect a package of small humanitarian ceasefires announced over the next couple of weeks.
The Israelis are also cancelling 18,000 work permits for citizens of Gaza, and have announced via the government press office that said citizens will be deported back into an active warzone.

I would expect whatever concessions the Israelis make to be very minimal, indeed.

Doubt it, I think everyone over there understands that when the guns stop there will be immense pressure put on to make sure they don’t start again.

The understandable fear many have is that if they leave, they will never be allowed to return, as happened in 1948.

I mean, yeh, but what? You go after hamas not every man, woman and child you can see. It is like some odd justification I feel, the sort of thing Pete would say. This is genocide hiding behind a terrorist attack.

You insult the veterans every day, by supporting the fascist regime you did under Johnson, Truss and now Sunak.
Except you don’t really like Sunak because he “backstabbed” your elitist poster boy.

The party who want to eradicate basic human rights and remove us from the rules within the ECHR.

Some people tiptoe around the stuff you write. I’m afraid I can’t. You are an actual embarrassment to this forum and Evertonians everywhere with the stuff you come out with.

I’m glad you raised the ECHR, do you have any idea why it was introduced, a few clues, WW2, Holocaust. So what human rights would you lose btw…..
