Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

"Behind the scenes, American officials also believe there is limited time for Israel to try to accomplish its stated objective of taking out Hamas in its current operation before uproar over the humanitarian suffering and civilian casualties – and calls for a ceasefire – reaches a tipping point.

In fact, there is recognition within the administration that that moment may arrive quickly: Some of the president’s close advisers believe that there are only weeks, not months, until rebuffing the pressure on the US government to publicly call for a ceasefire becomes untenable, sources told CNN.
"

Weeks?!? Seriously? Months is insane. It's obvious that the rate of fatalities will grow exponentially as dehydration, disease outbreaks and starvation set in, to say nothing of trauma like the surgery that is being performed without anesthesia (and probably proper sterilization) at hospitals with no power. Did the Israeli government fire all its infectious disease specialists between the start of COVID and now?

I see that the pro Palestinian movement are planning and threatening our Remembrance Day. I’m sure this obnoxious incursion into British commemoration of our fallen family members who gave their lives to ensure the saving of Europe and todays freedoms for our people will be welcomed by everyone observing the two minute silence. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot…..
That would be very disappointing if so and would add fuel to the culture war nonsense that the tory's are pushing. Let's hope its just talk.

I have no idea who this Douglas Murray is. In the U.K. we have just a few events that unite the country, Remembrance Day is probably number one. To disturb this day may well play well with the usual protesting suspects, but it won’t play well with millions of British citizens. It will generate the exact opposite of what the protesters wish to achieve, no doubt another set of nutters will turn up wearing union jacks to attack them, the media will be awash with this and the anti-immigrant lobby will have a field day. Other than having an anti-royalty rally on the same day as a Royal Funeral, I cannot think of anything more crass or stupid….
Just had a quick look, Pete, and it looks like a GB News piece. As these are the mouthpiece for the culture wars nonsense here I'd treat it as such.

The powers that be really could do with shutting that show down, IMO.

Nope wrong again. The protest March is planned for sat not sunday.

I am not a great fan of Varadker but credit where its due. He and his coalition partners have maintained a strong objective stance on behalf of the Irish people.

Despite strident criticism from the Israeli Government, the ambassador to Ireland and the Israeli media, the Government has maintained its stance.

This is a strong statement from our Taoiseach and I believe the vast majority of the Irish people support the Government in this regard.

It’s a special day, one long in all of our memories, they can do what they like any day of the year, doing it specifically on Remembrance Day is an insult, a stupid insult that will go against them. This will not win hearts and minds and instead of the media focusing on Remembrance it will be about these pillocks and whoever turns up to protest against them. Pure stupidity…..
As someone serving in the military the only one showing stupidity is you.

Varadker

'The Taoiseach added that given what has been said by Israel and Israeli authorities, "they wouldn't consider us [Ireland] to be close friends and allies the way they would consider the US, UK or Germany to be."

"It is a state we have relations with, but I don't think we are as close as we might have been or perhaps could be, because we do take a different position than most western countries on Palestine and what's happening at the moment." '

Ultimate respect to this stance

You insult the veterans every day, by supporting the fascist regime you did under Johnson, Truss and now Sunak.
Except you don’t really like Sunak because he ā€œbackstabbedā€ your elitist poster boy.

The party who want to eradicate basic human rights and remove us from the rules within the ECHR.

Some people tiptoe around the stuff you write. I’m afraid I can’t. You are an actual embarrassment to this forum and Evertonians everywhere with the stuff you come out with.

We’ve always been good at drawing maps, just look at the lines we drew separating India and China…surely that can’t cause any trouble…..
The border between 6 Ulster counties and the other 26 counties of Ireland including the other three natural mutual hinterlands of the other three Ulster counties was a great job Pete.

Peddling right wing nonsense made up by the likes of GB news and the daily Mail to stir up racial hatred is a lot more crass and stupid.
