Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

It isn't, pete. The organisers said they would stay away from the Cenotaph, they want to protest what is happening to Palestine and they are right to.

It’s a special day, one long in all of our memories, they can do what they like any day of the year, doing it specifically on Remembrance Day is an insult, a stupid insult that will go against them. This will not win hearts and minds and instead of the media focusing on Remembrance it will be about these pillocks and whoever turns up to protest against them. Pure stupidity…..

Pete there is a genocide happening right before our eyes - something that we, if this was any other country in the world carrying it out, would be trying to stop with military force if that was necessary.

Like most on here my ancestors fought in those world wars to stop what the Israeli government is trying to do. There are people being commemorated at that service who fought with the Arabs to free their country, and others who fought against the Stern Gang / Irgun terrorism at the end of the Mandate.

Would I approve of protestors disrupting the service at the Cenotaph? Of course not. Do I think they have every right to protest against what is happening in Gaza right now, including on that day itself? Absolutely - the memory of what those men fought and died for is betrayed by not calling out the same things that caused them to lose their lives.

Stop reading Douglas Murray and the rest of that scum. They are on the wrong side.

I have no idea who this Douglas Murray is. In the U.K. we have just a few events that unite the country, Remembrance Day is probably number one. To disturb this day may well play well with the usual protesting suspects, but it won’t play well with millions of British citizens. It will generate the exact opposite of what the protesters wish to achieve, no doubt another set of nutters will turn up wearing union jacks to attack them, the media will be awash with this and the anti-immigrant lobby will have a field day. Other than having an anti-royalty rally on the same day as a Royal Funeral, I cannot think of anything more crass or stupid….

Israel is not blockading the route into Egypt. The Egyptians are doing that, I wonder why…..maybe you know…..
So hold on. You know they can't go south? You were saying it was Hamas telling them to stay put, but you actually know they can't escape so you're arguing in bad faith.

What was the point of saying this if you knew Egypt was blocking that route out?
They are attacking an enemy hiding among the populace. The people have been told to move south, Hamas have told them to stay put knowing full well that Israel intends to wipe Hamas out. …..

Does it matter who's blocking it now? It doesn't, because the fact is they cannot get out and Israel is bombing that route out at the same time they're directing the civilians there.

And you're cheerleading for them while they do it.

I think this was covered in another post. The Egyptian army had lined up against the border, not for lunch or a BBQ, it was ready to invade and the Israelis just piled in with aircraft. No different from Russia just doing manoeuvres around Ukraine…nothing to see here……indeed I think it was the 6 day war that pulled the West onto the side of Israel….
Lining up inside your border is not an attack Pete.

They knew the Israelis were going to attack them when they blocked access to the Suez canal and guess what happened.

"It was ready to invade" you have no proof of that. What we do know is what the IDF did, and they attacked Egypt first.

I'm glad you can finally admit that they were the aggressor in that situation.
