Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

I have never met anyone displaying any kind of words or behaviour to suggest they were anti-semite, not even folk from Arab countries. I have of course read things probably written by anti-semites, and while I don’t believe that the likes of Corbyn are anti-semite, unfortunately things that are done or said could embolden the weak minded to be so....
OK, yes, similar really. Although, wait for it, the same could be said for Tories, where I live, there must be loads 'cos they get votes, but no one will hold their hands up.
THat is not a dig btw, just an observation

Remarkable scenes at the Al-Aqsa Mosque as Jerusalem's top Muslim cleric, Grand Mufti Mohammad Hussein, was shouted down and forced from the pulpit as he gave his Friday sermon.

"We are all Mohammed Deif" were the chants as he gave his sermon, a reference to the military leader of Hamas.

As he descended the steps they shouted, "Out, out, out, the dogs of the authority out."

The Mufti was appointed to his position in 2006 by Mahmoud Abbas, who also featured in some unsavoury chants at the mosque. Prior to that he was imam at the mosque for many years. He was in the headlines a couple of years ago after issuing a fatwa in which he warned that anyone found to have “sold, bestowed ownership or even facilitated the transfer of any part of Jerusalem or the land of Palestine to the enemies will be considered a heretic and traitor.” The fatwa also states that Muslims should refuse to marry, attend the funeral of, allow to be buried in a Muslim cemetery or do business with any Muslim involved in real estate transactions with Jews.

I would be surprised if any of us actually know any anti-semites, I certainly have never met one.....
A lot of anti semitism in Newcastle towards the surprisingly large orthodox Jewish population there. Partly because they are a very closed and non-integrated community.
They mainly live in a pretty rundown part of Gateshead. You hear lots of discriminatory remarks about them from other non-Jewish people who are from those parts even though they cause no troubles. Pretty much the only context I have heard first hand anti-semitism here.

Today should have been the day of the Palestinian Legislative Council elections.

The first election since 2006.

93% of the eligible population took the trouble to register to vote.

36 lists (parties) were competing.

1,381 candidates were nominated for the 132 seats in the legislature.

405 women were nominated - 29% of the candidates.

A unified coalition government, which would have included Hamas but with no-one from them in a major position, was guaranteed.

Democracy.

NO Missiles. NO war. NO deaths.

Gaza not in ruins.

The first step to peace.

Is this now gone?

Thanks for that link. When people are brought together it's amazing how much they have in common, and how such meetings can lead to a greater understanding of each other and the communities they come from.

Here's a link to the website of Allmep, the Alliance for Middle East Peace, which is a coalition of over 150 of the organisations that are working to further peace and understanding between Palestinians and Israelis.

https://www.allmep.org/

Anyone interested in supporting any of the organisations should click on the 'Who we are' tab, followed by 'members' and you'll find links to the websites of the individual organisations.

welcome. are you a hamas sympathiser, an anti-semite, pro israel or a friend of zats?

Hmmm, I'll rule out 'friend of zat' then.

Instead of spouting your cluelessness on here why not posts the facts which are that you:

Support terrorism, support Jihad ideology and support 3000+ rockets being launched by terrorist groups at civilians.

Those are the points of your posts throughout this entire thread.

Brainwashed.

Where have I said I support Hamas? Can you multi quote the posts for me?

Is bombing and killing of innocent people more justified if it comes from an official government body?

I have genuinely only ever met about 3 anti-semites. I do not even know what group they would typically belong to. I am aware of the " they control the media and the world banks" sect, but nothing else.

I have never met a person who hates Jews either.

Or at least I have never had a conversation with someone whom was frothing hatred of Judaism.

I will tell you one thing though.

Given the esay ride Israel spokespersons are given on the TV news outlets and the disgusting “both siderism” approach they take, as if this is a fight between equals and the casualties are not overwhelmingly on the Palestinian side whilst Israel is armed to the teeth with 21st century firepower, one has to wonder if the “controlling the media” trope is not rooted in fact.

The vid for anyone who wants to see it

That 'interviewer' didnt have an agenda whatsoever....

More of this please:

Meanwhile, 43 people were arrested by Hamas in Gaza for 'spreading rumours that undermine the stability of the home front'.

ive also read that there were some Palestinians talking online with Israeli's.

Taken into custody...

thanks for that really great response.. I've actually read your other thread and find it as rounded as anything one could hope to read on a forum.

I didn't want to go into the occupied territory discussion as this is where it gets murky about history, ownership, self determination etc.. and I definitely feel Israel could be doing it differently in the West Bank, but Gaza is a totally different thing. When people are told this is a terrorist organisation they still just imagine poor blokes throwing rocks over the fence... not a well funded group using the poor community they are holding to ransom as shields as they fire thousands of rockets into Israel daily. Its a mess mate..

Hamas is extremely well funded and has been using propaganda to brainwash Palestinians for years.

How much money have they spent building their underground 'metro' system and building rockets. Not to mention other smelly activities within Palestine to keep the population in check and brainwashed.

They could have improved the infrastructure and services using all that money.

3000 rockets or one hospital ?

The terrorists goal is clear.

You'll find most posters here will claim they are chanting for peace though Mick...
