i would suggest that as no footage is verified we take everything with a massive pinch of salt. Plus lots of comments will be either bots or the same people under different names. Probably best to ignore X altogether in these matters. Just impossible to know what is real. it is a crap question, Pete and you know it. Everyone agrees what hamas did was very wrong but most of us also can see the reason and where the actual blame lies. You are seeking to ignore the reasons and focus on Hamas.
Can you agree that Israel are the architect of all this?

The original problem was that both the Palestinians and Israelis were immediately at each others throats, followed by other Arab states. Like it or not but Israel is in control of what is now Israel. That does not mean that they should treat Palestinians like dirt, but the existence of Palestinian terrorist groups and the various wars that Israel has faced has made them very defensive minded. Now when you have a group like Hamas who have a declared aim to wipe Israel and its Jewish population from the face of the earth you can perhaps understand why. Time is normally a great healer and former enemies, like Germany towards France and the U.K. or Japan and the USA, become friends, but while Hamas keeps throwing missiles over the border there is no likelihood of that every happening. The violence needs to stop. The people of Israel and Palestine need time to let the mental wounds heal. Extremists, terrorists and Iran have no intention of letting that happen. Hence as of today the only recourse is more violence. Even a UN peacekeeping force would be unable to stop this while Hamas exists as a terrorist group. If Hamas gave up the gun and worked for the benefit of Palestinians by negotiated settlement with Israel, things may improve. But while it is led by bloodthirsty old men it never will, and what we see now is the result…..

But again you are putting the blame at the feet of hamas! You are ignoring the daily human rights violations carried out by the idf, the open air prison that is Gaza, the daily attacks by settlers on natives, the land grabs, the demolition of settlements, the imprisonment of children, the blockage of resources, the ban on fishing their own waters, the desecration of mosques the list goes on. If you want peace you have start by addressing the above. The above is why there is anger, mate. It lies solely at the feet of Israel.

That is the security dilemma, which is a concept that predates Helsinki by a quarter-century. To secure peace is to prepare for war. If I improve my security, you become less secure. You now have a choice. You can choose to arm yourself further in reply, which impacts mine, which is why we have arms races.

It's the reason the logic of the American right with respect to gun control doesn't work. If you arm yourself, you are more secure. If I now arm myself, I am relatively more secure than I was now that you have armed yourself, but we are both worse off than we were before you picked up a gun.

This is why we have arms control treaties and gun control laws.
