Indeed, and this has already started - even the Mail have had at least two articles over the past few days (one by Col. Tim Collins) clearly stating going in on the ground as a mass would be disastrous. They even published a sympathetic account of that BBC reporter in Gaza who found his friends and family had been bombed, though the comments section was a disgrace.

City fighting is nasty business in the best of times. Fighting in a city where it's impossible to distinguish enemy from civilian, and the opponents have had years to prepare traps, is suicide.

I don't see how moving the population helps matters much, when it comes to hostage recovery. Hamas will just take the hostages south. Is the idea to identify the hostages from satellite, or do they intend to squeeze the people of Gaza together like a grape press until there's nowhere to hide the hostages?

Is being a Hamas sympathiser any different to being an Israel sympathiser? I mean the latter are responsible for twenty times (and rapidly climbing) the number of deaths the Palestinians have. (EDIT - that figure is wrong, the number of deaths caused by Hamas is much lower again).
This is back to the rhetoric that Israel are the victims here. Last weekend aside, they are the aggressor.

Technically it could be argued, yes, but in reality, I'd say that Israel have bahaved in ways that are criminal and inhumane.

If you look at some of the stuff coming out now it looks like ISIS have rampaged through the affected areas and communites. If you look at Gaza it looks like Russia or Hitlers Nazi's have descended.

I'd hoped that there might be a moment to pause and reflect but sadly it looks like it is just going to get worse. Ironically which is probably exactly what Hamas and Iran want (and Putin).
