At this time, it might have been helpful show a split of the colours of both israel and Palestine together. Anything taking sides won't help to bring people together, and it is the people of both communities who are suffering.

I'd beg to differ. We had a minute's silence when Kennedy was assassinated against Stoke and someone shouted Krushchev and got taken out by the police. Thatcher wrote to Hughes, received LFC when they won the European Cup. She wrote to Hughes about getting defeated by Manu. She consulted lfcs chairman about hooliganism, the only chairman I believe she wrote to.

Football has been used for jingoistic purposes for years. Some would call that politics.

Agreed but people protesting and the like have the opportunity. It is such a polarising scenario that such an approach might not be possible. The longer that Gaza is bombed and Hamas continue to hold civilian hostages the less likely this gets.

It is because football is seen on certain levles as a unifying voice. Not between glorious toffee's and filthy kopites, for example, but within clubs fanbases. I am sure that there are many clubs that enjoy the support of both Palestinians and Isreali's, many cultures behind one team type thing.

But I get what you are saying and this should be a personal choice for fans and not thrust upn people, who might not agree.
