Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

Utterly horrific scenes goings on. But even so, I think we should really take a step back, and pause for a moment to consider the turmoil that the poor “celebrities” must be going through right now

Hezbollah is the organisation Israel fears most. They are battle hardened from their exploits in Syria and sit on 40 000 plus missile. Militarily, the IDF do not want to fight on two fronts. Political miscalculations may make that happen.

I agree that’s who they fear, but what they should really be concerned about is a complete 180 from the regional status quo, which may be a lot closer than they think.

As US allies the Saudi and Egyptian governments did acquiesce to attacks on Gaza provided they were brief, they weren’t accompanied by threats to their own interests and they could display their influence by brokering peace.

The current Israeli government wants to level the place and starve the population, its full of ministers who want to do the same to the West Bank and restore the Temple, and its paying no attention to them (or the UN, or anyone else who isn’t cheerleading). It’s basically setting off every alarm in existence.

Football is above politics remember...

Rock and a hard place for the FA. I think their decision to have a silence and armbands for the "innocent victims in the conflict" is about right.

But none on last Friday. Thats the madness in this.

The Israeli state failed and now the Gazan's have to pay for it with their lives.

I hope to God not, but I can imagine there's a ratio the Israelis have in mind in terms of death toll suffered by each side.

Since 2008 6,400 Palestinians and 300 Israelis have been killed in conflicts, according to the UN. I fear they'll be looking to keep that proportion.

1200 Israelis have been killed since Saturday. I studied this in History, must be early 80's. It was impossible then, it still is.
