Is Jo a no go?

for me no, his positional play is woeful taking other players space up or not making the right runs or not dropping a bit when he should and thats not because hes in bad form, he should know automatically hes just not there.
still hopeful Vaughan can still make it imho possibly a very big name in game if all goes better for him.

he should know automatically???
how?

yet again i'll repeat my new mantra, 'he's played three games' with three different lineups.

Please explain to me, how the hell he should automatically know where other players are going to run or work around him, without the experience, of at the very least, a dozen games or more?

I think he's still a little lightweight despite his height, he gets pushed around a bit. Having Cahill up there alongside him is a must, Cahill can help him out against powerful central defenders.

He's got alot of potential when it comes to link up play though, he's an intelligent player. He just needs to think faster because at times he slowed down the play.

going along with the crowd that says its too early to evaluate him, lets look at the three games he's played.

west brom, newcastle, and bolton are all bottom half teams. we were on amazing form coming into the game, so from the get-go, they crowded the box.

jo is a very quick player, and i think his greatest asset will be getting behind the defence, the opportunity for which usually presents itself best against teams not playing for that point, but playing for the win. lets wait and see atleast what he looks like against chelsea, as when they're attacking their whole defence will move up and we can see how handles breaking with the ball and burning them with his speed.

admittedly from what i've seen, games like these where you need close control to maneuver through tight spaces don't seem to be his strong point, but every players different so we'll see how he handles different styles of opposition.

He is not good enough - Vagner Love is the one, no doubt.
But he wouldnt get into the team with Yak fit because our first choice forward line up is undoubtedly a combo of Yakubu and Cahill.

Not sure on the bloke just yet,

however would settle for fit and raring to go Saha & Yakubu strikeforce rather than Jo (y)

we will be after a couple of midfielders in the summer now arteta is out, we will not have 8m to spend on him.
He is being played as a lone striker with cahill backing up, this is not his best position, i believe he likes to be the second striker.

What is it about Everton supporters and the need to evaluate the potential of a player in a short amount of time?

Let's bump this thread at the end of the season as there isn't anyone here who can give an honest assessment of Jo's potential based on his performances against Bolton, Newcastle, and West Brom.

I was thinking the same to myself. It has happened twice for 2 new players. (n)

On Jo, I think we won't sign him, no matter what.

If he doesn't perform, clearly we won't want him. If he performs, City will try to take comercial advantage out of it, and rightly so.

Very good player lacking match practice. If he keeps playing he will get better and better. Him and Saha could be lethal.
