Is it time for us to replace Howard?

And I'd tell others the same. "Don't be stupid" that because Howard makes one mistake today that the loss is all on him or totally absolves the rest of the squad for their [Poor language removed] performance.

What is it with Evertonians sometimes that makes them worse than kopites? You tell me? It's a joke lad. They love a good scapegoat don't they mate?
I'd agree with you if it wasn't habitual which it is. What is with Americans that makes them so blinkered to the catalogue of errors made by one of their national team that they far exceed Kopites in delusion?

I've seen plenty of top goalkeepers lose matches for their teams too. If you're looking for the perfect keeper, good luck. You'll never find one. And Howard has kept us in plenty of games over the years.

You should know better than to spout [Poor language removed] like that.

Really.

Let's be honest though you're probably only saying this because he's your 'USMNT soccer goal stopper secretary of defence' aren't you? Even though I've been to every single game he's played in an Everton shirt and have put up with him until it's gotten too far. I'm not asking for a perfect goalkeeper, I'm asking for someone who does the simple things you ask of a goalkeeper really well. That's not too much to ask.

Ah yes, but is it habitual?

He makes mistakes like every other keeper.

Too say he's losing games for us right and left through a "catalog of errors" is just deluded. That is perhaps just the group of Evertonians that love to have a good scapegoat. If it isn't Hibbert, it's Osman. If it isn't Osman, it's Howard. Lukaku, Fellaini back in the day, etc.... We love a good moan about someone or something.

Glad he had help from his midfield and defense today....ah, wait, hang on a minute.

I may have been spoilt by witnessing Nev in his pomp but I think it is time for Everton to buy a new number 1; Howard is costing us more points than he is saving . He has been a good buy but is on a downward spiral and this needs to be addressed sooner rather than later as Robles is certainly not the answer.

In an ideal world, yea, we'd get a better keeper.
Howard's decent like, but where is he on your list of priorities ?

Say you had 10 million ( or whatever you might need to replace him), and no more, to spend in January. Would you

  • Buy a new keeper
  • Get a new centre half
  • Find a new ( left ? ) winger
  • Add a new defensive midfielder
  • Pick up a new playmaker / no 10 or
  • Get an up and coming unknown striker
Before the window opens, I'm going to create a poll for this, then at least when in March or April people say "ffs Bobby, it was obvious we needed a new <insert position here>" we'll be able to see if they thought that pre-transfer window.

This isn't meant as a go at you by the way mate, but people at the club, principally Martinez, have to make choices. There is no huge pot of money for us to dib our hands in, so we have to prioritise things.

I'd be happier if he saved off his beard though.

No lad. Jump to conclusions much?

I was supporting Everton long before Tim Howard was ever in England.

Glad you've been to every single game. I've watched every single game he's played in an Everton shirt.

So your point is? What again?????

Nailed on there.

Yeah, if we had the money and could get a world class keeper, we'd be all over it.

But goalkeeper hasn't been one of the priorities in recent years. It will be at some point and perhaps may be right now. But there are, and have been, other priorities that our money needed to be spent on.

I imagine if RM had spent 10MM on a new GK, Evertonians would have gone ballistic at the "waste of money" when we needed to spend in more pressing areas.

You can start by not grouping me in with them because for the most part I'm supportive of the usual scapegoats. It is habitual and he's second in the league for errors so far this season. You putting it down to him just being made a scapegoat and it being the other members of the team is deflecting and absolving him of any blame.

My point is that I've not just jumped on his back after one game, it's been a decision I've made over time that he just isn't good enough for us. So does he make no mistakes in your eyes then?

Absolutely wrong there buddy. You couldn't be more wrong.

He was partially at fault for their first goal. No one has denied that.

To say that this loss is on him is just again, kopite behavior mate.

..and it really needs to stop with the "supporters."

If we're gonna "get rid" then send Distin and Jags out the door too because they were [Poor language removed] today. Many of our players were crap today. Let's send them on to pastures anew.

Both their goals were due to mistakes by our field players. Let's get rid.

Do you see how stupid people are being? If not, I can continue but it may not make a difference.

A world class keeper can be worth 10 points a season. I like Howard, but he is making more mistakes that are costing us points. I would go for Cech. 7mill apparently. We'd get 5 or 6 seasons of him and he could make the difference

Again not putting it all on him but he is costing us points. He is. He's fumbled far too often, gotten soft hands to free kicks or long shots and we are suffering for it as a team. We obviously can't send him to pastures new because we can't get an adequate enough replacement or improvement at this moment in time. We've throw away winning positions because of him, directly, far, far too many times for a keeper for a team of our ambitions.
