Is Baines Irreplaceable

Fact is, i and people dont want to lose him because he is genuinely the best LB in World Football. How long have we been able to say that about a player at our Club?! If Baines leaves, we're weaker, simple as that, regardless of how much money we get for him.

Mart, I agree with you but Baines isn't the greatest defender! He's very good attacking and will improve under Martinez going forward but it could be time Bryan Oviedo stepped up to the plate. Baines needs to realise he's not irreplaceable and so do most people here.

Psychologically speaking losing Baines, especially to UTD is a bigger blow than Fellaini.

He's seen as one of us, and losing him to UTD after Rooney and our manager, only serves to further emphasize our 'also ran' status. The idea that we will ever compete at the top again is already tenuous enough.

Selling 'foreign players' is kinda expected at some stage.

Financially speaking, selling Baines for circa 17-20m is Better business because of his age and the fact that he's a full-back. You could keep Fellaini for another year and sell him for the same price.

For Martinez, it's a balancing act, he'll want to hold the squad together so that it doesn't send out the message that the wheels are coming off but he'll also want to bring in funds so that he can build-on and establish his own style.

If he sells either, or both, he'll need to make a statement by bringing in a big name.

Hold onto your hats...

I like the Wigan left back with the long hair - he looked great in the cup final - nowhere near as good as Baines though if we get 18 -20 million then BK will not turn it down!

Espinoza?

Honest to f*cking God.

I'm sorry, but why do some people just not understand football?

He looked ok to me put some good crosses in only seen him in that game so if sadly we let Baines go the other player is the Southampton left back younger and looks good - but they will want top money!

To the left, to the left
To the left, to the left
Everything you own in the box to left

He is absolutely awful. Seriously - everyone was laughing at how bad he is.

All of a sudden, a lot of people are turning to Wigan players whenever we seek replacements. Strange...where is all this love coming from? Correct me if I am wrong but isn't Espinoza only a backup to Beausejour or Figueroa?
