Current Affairs Irish Border and Brexit

Pointing out the the UK chose to leave the EU so the onus is on the UK to figure out how to leave the EU is not being pedantic.
It's neither irrelevant nor pedantic.
It's up to the government that you voted for to enact the referendum you voted for.

No. It’s up to the U.K. and the EU to address the issue of the U.K.’s withdrawal from the EU, of which the border is just one of many issues requiring a joint solution...the U.K. has stated and put in Law that there will be no hard border...if no one can understand this then how can the issue ever be addressed.....

Much like full stops or ellipsis, I'm not sure you understand how to appropriately use this statement.

Well if we want to be pedantic, the GFA caused it, that was caused by trying to get a solution to terrorists, which was caused by Irish Nationalists wanting to reverse NI’s right to be part of the U.K. , which was.......it’s quiet easy this finger pointing........however, none of this actually helps to sort out a sensible solution, because people will argue about who’s fault it was forever and keep a grievance going, rather than addressing the issue......

Q.E.D.....

They put that into U.K. law entirely voluntarily, whilst at the same time knowing full well that if we revert to WTO terms then a hard border is a pre-requisite.

So again entirely the Govts choice, as is the insistence that they won’t leave the EU with one of the solutions that would make the border issue moot.

People aren’t falling for this slight of hand con I’m afraid. You can parrot the lie that this is everyone else’s fault barring the current shambles of a Govt if you wish, but literally no-one barring either those as buried in the ideology as you, or the woefully uninformed are falling for it.

Fortunately there’s now plenty out there who are pulling at the threads.....

Q.E.D.....
aaarrggghhh.
I'm not going through the last few posts to argue about the appropriate use of Q.E.D with a fella who insists on using tonnes of full stops at the end of every post.
Look Pete, of course both sides have to work out a sensible solution but the fact that the UK chose to leave is central to how the negotiations proceed.
Had the EU decided to kick the UK out of the union, the onus would be on the EU to figure out how that happens.

You chose to leave, therefore you must provide an answer to the border, no we reject that, no we also reject that, no we reject that also, no that is ridiculous, no we don’t want that, no, no, no, no...This also happened on here, you Leavers must provide an answer and we Remainers will throw rocks at it, but obviously not try and suggest a solution. Now the ROI have faithfully followed this mantra and thrown in a few rocks of their own, but the issue still remains and U.K. Independence Day gets ever nearer. I think the ROI will get a bit twitchy soon when the rejections of all and any solutions lead to a no deal..... Oh and don’t let my dots upset you, they are just dots.....

List the solutions that the U.K. has formally put forward, as you’re suggesting they’ve been numerous.

Oh and btw the EU has given the U.K. 2 specific options that would solve the issue.

We did suggest a solution and you agreed to it.

A solution that would split the U.K. If the U.K. had proposed the reverse scenario with the ROI within the U.K. it would, quite rightly have been discounted.....
How can you use that as supposed equivalence?

Ireland have no intention of leaving the EU and are nothing to do with the UKs decision.

Whereas NI voted to Remain and are having this entire debacle foisted on them, as no-one from this shambles of a Govt gave the issue any serious thought or consideration before the vote was called, exactly the same as all of the other implications of leaving the EU.

I live and work in France. I found out this week my mother voted for Brexit, citing freedom of movement as the main reason.
She’s not that bright, but WTF?
