I don’t believe that’s the case anymore Joey, but I’m sure someone will tell you the detail......
Looked this up-
NI_sales_and_exports.png

The Republic of Ireland sent just over 1% of its exports in goods to Northern Ireland in 2016. Another 11% of its exports in goods went to Britain (the UK excluding Northern Ireland). We do not know the figure for services.
60% of Northern Ireland’s exports go to the rest of the UK-
No wonder the EU proposes a border in the Irish Sea......

But that’s NI Joey, I think ROI is different and that EU sales after internal sales will be higher..."

I see Varadkar is shooting his mouth off again, probably stung by the laughter regarding his no fly comments.....Mr Varadkar said: “What matters really is what happens between the Governments - the 27 Governments of the EU, the institutions......he really is a Pygmy in a world of giants.......

No Pete, he is representing a member state of the EU and he is correct in what he is saying. That is the very nature of trading alignment, everyone works to the mutual benefit of their partners.

It isn’t Varadkar’s fault that Westminster have lost control of Brexit.

The UK loaned Eire about 17 billion to bail the country out, via RBS/Lloyds it accounted to 1 pound in every 4 the government/UK taxpayer, put into those banks.
To date we have had roughly 350 million in interest payments back, so like it or not we are linked for the foreseeable future no matter what.
Dangerous game the Eire PM is playing being the mouth for the EU , if life teaches you nothing else it,s don't bite the hand that feeds you.

Which is what I’ve been saying, Varadkar is playing to his EU masters and it will come back and bite him. I could almost wish for the hardest of Brexits just to screw him over......
