Don’t get hung up on the descriptor. Technology either exists, is being developed or requires technology or physics breakthroughs. When I say basic, this just means that the computer, scanning, interface and communications technology exists. There will need to be lots of it and we may decide to develop to reduce costs. The hardware however does not require nuclear power (itself quite basic) or anything not currently available. The software will replicate whatever is required to operate the system. It really isn’t hard, it’s complicated, but not that complex........
I’m pulling you up on terms like ‘basic’ because you’re using them to further your point. I find it misleading as there is nothing basic about what’s required. Infact, rolling out a 350 mile virtual border will prove to be both complicated and complex. As for “The software will replicate whatever is required to operate the system” I’m sorry mate but that’s just gibberish

The technology is basic, it exists. You seem to think that we are travelling to a new solar system. A 350mile Border is just distance, it requires more and perhaps different kit. Software just makes the hardware do what the required processes defined require. Add to this power, control, environmental and security issues and what we have is not gibberish just systems engineering......

I didn’t say your whole point was gibberish, just the sentence I quoted. Your point is overly simplistic though.

It is simplistic I will agree, top level system design is just that, simplistic, but correct. If I gave you the real answer it would cover about 5000 pages of this thread....

You've shown us so many times on here what it is that we all understand perfectly.

Indeed. Now look, we have obviously got off to the wrong start. I’ll admit I love the country in which I was born, the U.K. and I also love the country of my family, the ROI, or Ireland as it was then. I will also admit to being a bit of a pedantic pain in the arse...especially when someone starts throwing insults at me...so if we are going to communicate then let’s at least be civil about it......ok, but that’s up to you.....
