Current Affairs Irish Border and Brexit

or we could blame NATO for making a bags of Libya. Or global warming for making conditions in Saharan Africa unlivable, or the lack of a coordinated international response to the crisis in Syria. There's plenty of blame to go round for the plight of refugees seeking a better life in Europe.
The rise of right wing populists is a knee jerk reaction to a threat to their nationalism. It's a greedy basic reaction that misses all the major factors in global migration and leads to hate and division.
So go ahead and blame the EU, but you're missing the point, especially when it comes to the border on the island of Ireland.
You seem to blame Brexit on everything look the North and South do not want a hard border what will the EU do to facilitate this?

I haven't blamed Brexit for everything.
I'd be quite happy if the UK government went to the people with all the facts and with a clear plan for implementing the process.
But instead, Cameron played fast and loose in an effort to shut up his back benchers. He had no plan B and that's becoming clearer and clearer.
The EU are suggesting special status for NI to remain in the single market, thus avoiding a border.
The UK are suggesting a soft border like the one between the US and Canada hahaha.

Not just Pete and I voted for Brexit 17.4 million in the UK voted for it too, democracy should win!

Undoubtedly, if I’m honest I don’t believe U.K. is a democracy to be honest that’s a personal opinion, but I would accept its mandated according to laws in place, whether it’s democratic or not I think we would differ.

By the premise of democracy that you suggest I.e. mandated by the people, surely Euorope is just executing its mandate given by its citizens to protect their interests. It’s the same thing really.

Except the EU is acting on behalf of far more citzens.

Check the Swedish Norway border electronic - Turkey has an electronic border that works but fails when the EU gets involved to stall their wagons deliberately- this organisation is like an institution and who wants to live in a institution?

Sweden and Norway have the Schengen agreement for the free movement of people. They do however have physical border stations and regular custom checks on vehicles. If you think this could work in NI you clearly haven't a clue about NI's history and politics.

And that's conspiratorial nonsense about the EU regarding Turkey. Would you feel safer with an open and frictionless border at Bulgaria? I thought Brexiters were fearful of the influx of refugees and Turks?

Unelected!
The MEPs have to vote on the unelected EU commission- you call that democracy?.........

Of course you blame brexit for this. Without Brexit it wouldn't even be a question, consideration or an issue. Brexit is the reason there is a border issue in Ireland. The EU did not vote out the UK. The UK created this clusterf**k and are somehow blaming the EU.

Not my point the fact that goods travel tracked and computerised is the factor forget the expensive single market racket that the EU rakes in we pay 3 billion alone on our China deals - Trump has woke up to this and is slapping tarrifs on Steel and alliminium !

Well I’m not sure where you deliver them, but the technology exists and is used to track individual items around the world....

Tracking parcels is one thing when it's Doris wanting to pick up her new pyjamas from the Next catalogue but it's quite another thing on a commercial scale - let alone when criminality is involved.

Sweden and Norway have common movement of people Joey. And I wouldn't be knocking the idea of an 'institution' if I were you.....

An electronic border can be done, no probs .......

Give an example anywhere in the world Pete. Anywhere.

It will be the UK if it's on WTO rules that has to have a border

Tell me who did you vote for in the last election for Governor of the Bank of England Joey?

And you want to send the little ship Britannia out to sea to negotiate it's own trade deals with China and the US? With David Davis and Theresa May at the helm!?!

What’s the difference between how EU commissioners are apppointrd and how the British cabinet are appointed.

Do the British people vote for who is appointed to the cabinet?

The British cabinet are voted in by the electorate and employed by the PM who has been elected by the party!

And commissioners are appointed club by the elected governments of member states, they are the European cabinet. The premise is exactly the same, if that is undemocratic so is the appointing of U.K. ministers.
