This has about as much substance as Putin threatening to nuke the U.K.

As has been stated many times before, the EU and Germany, France, Spain, Poland etc …individually all export more to the U.K. than the U.K. exports to them. So to rip up the trade deal or start a trade war over a pragmatic solution to internal U.K. trade really is the definition of shooting oneself in the foot. It really is time for the EU to stop threatening the U.K. (we’ve left guys) and implement a sensible application of the protocol for internal U.K. trade…..

Geramny, France Spain, Portugal don’t import from the U.K. because why would you when you have so many other economy’s and countries around them that they can import from that don’t require them to cross a sea. I mean work it out. The reason why they export more to the U.K. is because, well how the hell else are you going to get goods into your country you have to import across an ocean. It’s geography not economics.

Ultimately and this is the point the U.K. market is insignificant, in fact annoying these days with duty, it’s why shelves are short. The EU would absolutely get into a trade war with the U.K. because for them it’s not about the U.K., NI, or the ROI it’s about the integrity of the single market - unfettered access with no back door to a market of 500 people, they don’t give a flyer about the U.K. market - it’s the small fish you throw back, for the 500mill salmon.

None of the above will happen, because the U.K. won’t ever enact the legislation, not in a million years.

I think you will find that all of the countries I mentioned import from the U.K. the U.K. and USA are Germany’s biggest trading partners. The U.K. market is the third largest Eu trading market after China and the USA…..

Outside of the EU you forgot to add in your post and data- seriously mate! lol Exactly the point I’m making. How do those trade figures stack up between countries in the single market or trade amongst the single market in total. The U.K. economy in minuscule in comparison to that scope for imports and exports. Which is why the EU will protect it at all costs.

In a way I don’t think you understand you are actually showing the U.K. reliance on the EU as opposed to the opposite. You need to export to the EU, you need to import from the EU. The EU don’t, because it’s not one man standing alone.

Checks can be and are done by Benefits, Employers, Local Councils, Solicitors, Landlords etc etc. To live somewhere or to work, have a bank account etc etc checks are done. You simply apply the rule that those who follow the rules of application can stay, if allowed, and those that sneak in get sent back to NI…..

Just had a look there trade amongst EU countries in the EU single market is worth close to 4 trillion a year, compared to the UK's 136.6 billion - for the absence of confusion a Trillian is a 1000 billion, compare that to your figures above and it shows how miniscule the UK economy is to the EU compared and thus their priority to protect the integrity of the single market. So the EU would absolutely impose trade sanctions on the UK to protect the single market. We both know it wont happen though, because the bill is just a stunt by the UK and more about internal Tory politics then anything.
