So freedom of movement for the Irish north and south except for those with dodgy number plates haha!!

ANPR is the solution then? How does that track southern reg vehicles? The systems were never linked as much as it was talked about.

ANPR already tracks license plates for their legitimacy as in if the car doesn't match what the cops see physically they get pulled over.

Also all the illegals have to do then is drive a car that is properly licensed, regged and well in order.

Or are you saying they will collect legally the information for immigration purposes?

Then that's restrictive and defeats the purpose of an open border for Irish citizens north and south.

And again is this system live? Does it have to be changed or upgraded for its new use? Or are you just guessing?

Not sure what you are getting at in the highlighted portion. What spanner? On what? Work permits mean nothing to illegals and nor do they mean anything to anyone willing to use their labour under the table. Are you suggesting that even if they crossed into the north illegally they would have no luck getting labour illegally? All countries have issues with this hence Trumps main agenda on Mexicans.

Also again MAy and her cronies have said there will be no hard border or well have suggested it and they want to keep NI as is if thats the case there will be no "ports" across the border.
It might be all mint imperial if we get a deal in the single market our trading agreements in Ireland will not alter- immigration will be on a visa work permit so anyone who breaks that permit would be stoped in the North - France a EU country has this agreement with Switzerland non EU no problems!
No need fo a hard border that's why phase 2 of the EU negotiations should solve the Irish tade deal!

All EU countries that border Switzerland have an agreement except Italy as part of the Schengen agreement. Italy insists the Swiss keep its borders with its country although i think they are now in dispute because the swiss are closing them.

Also the reason the Swiss have no issues with the EU countries is because of the pharma business in its countries

Exactly untill the EU agree a trade deal with the UK instead of silly demands etc how the hell do you sort Ireland out?

How will they be stopped in the north?
When we leave there will be no freedom of movement on on a work visa basis it will be the same in all UK ports, and a
airports - not a freedom of movement as we have now get used to the idea - Ireland will have a clause were it is one country like it always had before and after the troubles - there will be no hard border!

Some of us queried that before voting Joe. How ever its cut and pasted, trade deal, free pancakes for all, the simple fact is that there will be an open border with the EU. And any amount of tech stuff you and others have droned on about, simply doesnt change that.

To make it plainer. It will be, and actually is, a UK/EU border. Just happens to be in Ireland.

They might. They might not. Like every thing, some voted for something they didnt actually think through, not even a little bit.

To get out of the country if you do not have a work visa is the same difference as coming in anywhere else from outside the UK!
It is not just an Irish problem they have bigger trade deals with the UK than the EU!
If the EU would move to our trade agreement in phase two it's a easier fix - the EU do not want that!

Only if there is a border with like, immigration officials and check points and that. There are not. And there will not be any time soon.

We did protection and self government from the EU Polictical Union costing a deficit of 8 plus billion per year!
That is not free trade!

Utter delusional rubbish mate. With respect. The EU trade contribution to our GDP dwarfs the net contribution we make. Or made.

But ok, in your supporters world we will just renegotiate all that and all will be fine and dandy. It might be. Hope it will be. But not a gamble I was happy to take with my kids future.

That will take place at every port and airport the fact they trvzel across the unbarried Irish border really is being blow out of proportion at the end of the day if the Unknown can get a deal for the single market like other countries no problley, trying to fix it before phase two of Ezu negotiations is madness!

We trade over 60 percent outside the EU paying tariffs why do you think they are hating to lose us?
We have proped them up long enough!
Free trade costing over 8 billion per year!
GovernEd by an expensive polictical talking shop with two parliaments and high cost that's why 17 .4 million voted out!

No Joe. Its an open border with the EU. Not an airport, not a port. A porous, mainly rural line on a map. With zillions of crossing places. The ROI is in the EU, ergo, any EU citizen can easily travel to there, and cross into the UK. There will not be a hard border between NI and ROI ever again, (hopefully), so I struggle to see why cannot see this pretty big hole in the whole Leave vote.

I give up.

On another topic, I know we squabble in this thread, but on a personal note, I hope you are on the mend mate. ;);)
