oh right, so leave but keep trade borders open and people borders closed?

There are no people borders closed between NI, ROI and U.K. The CTA existed before the EU. The U.K. allows and issues visas for work in the U.K., some 20,000+ from India and Philippines came in for the NHS alone. The number of non EU nationals working in the U.K. has increased by 30-40%. I have no problem whatsoever with legal immigration, my own children are based around the world….

I get it Pete, you're a proud loyalist and that's fine.
But in NI the majority wanted to be in the EU and now the majority want the protocol to remain unchanged.
People both north and south of the border are happy with the situation.
The only reason to change it is because of the unionist perceived lack of sovereignty. Which, again, is heart ruling head.
If it's not broke, don't fix it. Particularly in the case of NI

It's amazing that we've apparently negotiated our way from holding all the cards and bringing the EU to heel, to getting in a pickle because the EU are applying an agreement to a part of the UK exactly as they intend and we happily ratified through our legislative process.

Beat me to it Neiler. Here is another one

I'm just trying to get my head around immigrants fleeing the war in Ukraine are legal but from Syria are illegal

No. I have no issue with any nationality or colour, if they correctly apply and are legal I have no problem with anyone coming here….
One group have to show an electric bill, the others have to risk their lives for a trip to Ruanda,if they are lucky. Or maybe they should all be told to go the the nearest safe country?

US laying down the line. Do Boris and Truss realise their buddy Trump is gone?

The group repeated a warning that there will not be a US-UK trade agreement if any damage is caused to the Good Friday Agreement as a result of unilateral action.

"That's been articulated by the speaker and now having had both Democratic and Republican members of Congress, who don't agree on everything, there are many things we disagree on but we agree on that point and we've made it very clear to each and every person that we've met with on this delegation trip," Mr Kildee added.
