I can only talk anecdotally but There are definitely more gaps on shelves at some supermarkets, if you’re in Liverpool a few in the city centre definitely have less stock .

don’t really want to get into arguing the why’s or wherefores but it’s absolutely something I’ve personally experienced.

In the North of Ireland though bud? I was asking about the consequences of the Irish Protocol not Brexit generally!

If you listen to certain voices you'd think the Protocol has brought the 6 counties back to the Middle Ages....

Sorry mate you can see from my post I meant on the mainland . My apologies for not grasping which the thread we were in before posting and you’d quoted me no point deleting .

I blame to many cracks to the head , apologies.

With more chat of the Protocol provisions being kicked down the road it'd be great to hear from Blues living in the North as to whether there's any major negative effects really being seen?

With Covid I've not been back for almost 2 years so be curious as to how its getting on?
There are no shortages in the shops in County Down. There are more local food stuffs on sale. The cross border trade has increased and local producers have filled any shortages.
There are issues in ordering goods on line as some firms will no longer ship to here.
The prices are going up however.

I doubt the protocol would affect people in Northern Ireland as they still have unfettered access to EU origin products; those that can move freely between ROI and NI. With the exception of a few GB goods such as some dairy products and meat products.

The impact NI protocol was on GB trade, they’d be subject to more stringent EU SPS checks on arrival in NI, as they would technically be conducting the SPS for the EU.

And here we have endgame in Ireland as a direct result of Brexit. The DUP ignored the NI vote thinking they could turn back time and have a physical border enforced.

Now we have them threatening to ‘collapse’ Stormont. For what lads? To refuse to participate in the only public forum that you have? Refuse to share power with the majority of the electorate who voted to Remain?

One last attempt at an ‘enemy at the gates’ tubthumping election campaign is just desperation.

They are trying desperately to withstand a border poll ,and they think by leaving Stormont it will put pressure on the government not to hold one. Sabotage has always been in their Paisley DNA.

How can they bang on about the protocol when it's bring jobs to the island of Ireland and particular increased trade for Northern Irish firms, who've got the best of both world. The DUP's objection is due to the north and south economy integrating more and gives a further example of how an United Ireland would work.

The people in Ireland should sharpen their pencils in order to cast their vote on whether they want to remain part of the UK. The DUP and Johnson in their quest for Brexit have brought forward positive reasons for a united Ireland. 'Losing' Northern Ireland will be the DUP's and Johnson's legacy.

Would not let this bloke negotiate a bag of pick n mix. Seriously who on earth in the EU is taking this bloke Frost seriously or the UK for that matter. Its not even a year since this was agreed by the very same people Johnson Brexit government, they own this agreement, what is their word and signature worth, its embarrassing surely even the most committed of Brexit must see that.

So When does the new technological solution start ? Thought we’d have brought that in by now as by all accounts although lacking in any detail it seemed like it was pretty basic stuff .

It's just part of the lies of Brexit being exposed isn't it? So if the PUL community threaten violence we all cave in? This exact scenario was warned against in 2016.

All i can think out is they are very happy playing chicken with Good Friday agreement, in the hope either EU and Republic along with Biden steps in and cuts some sort of deal elsewhere which EU can park some of the red lines around border and goods.
At what cost to the UK going forwards, think we can already tell with no trade deal with USA...
