Current Affairs Irish Border and Brexit

OK I'll break it down for you.

There are nations that are in the EU and nations that are not in the EU.

The EU represents the nations that are in it in the negotiations which includes Ireland. Ireland is not conducting separate negotiations with the UK government over Brexit. It's quite simplistic really.

If you can't understand why leaving the single market means that there has to be customs then there is no point in discussing it.

The UK chose to leave, they weren't kicked out. But yeah, its all the EUs fault and they have an agenda, blah, blah, blah.

I know the EU argument well mate. I just fully reject it and see it as unnecessary and pure profiteering. Britain and Ireland can have bilateral free trade. The EU don't need to be involved.

Explain why Britain and Ireland cannot have a fee trade deal. Why could it not work? I'm still waiting a rational answer.

That's ridiculous. If you reject that the EU is representing Ireland in the negotiations then you don't know what you are talking about.

How can the EU not be involved in a trade deal which involves one of it's members ?

I think it's disgraceful that the EU tries to prevent it's members making trade deals with non members. There's no logic to it other than they demand their slice on every deal.

They obviously say they are representing Ireland but they represent no one but their own little nucleus of unaccountable power hungry beaureacrats. This is about ensuring there are customs for them to pocket not abput preventing them.

You've clearly been brainwashed by Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson and are prepared to let your own people suffer the economic consequences of their xenophobia.

Oh straight to xenophobia. zzzzzzzzz

You've still not given me one reason why a free trade deal between Britain and Ireland wouldn't be beneficial and workable. No customs, no border, no hassle. It's the logical option. It existed long before the EU and rightly so.

So you want the RoI to have special status in the EU in order to avoid NI having special status in the UK? That’s pretty funny

They are xenophobics, there is no doubt about that. I said that they must have affected you because you are foaming at the mouth with anti-EU hate.

I don't have to give you a reason about a free trade deal because I didn't bring it up. You did. You do not seem to understand that it is not possible because the UK is taking a unilateral decision to leave the EU.

Stay in, and there are "no customs, no border, no hassle. Its the logical option."

Spot on they were not involved with the Good Friday agreement so why are they concerned now - they are petrified that when or if we leave and power on worldwide they will diminish so they are looking to throw as many spanners in the works as possible - Labour break their manefesto on the EU - A Custom Union is going to be different than the Custom Union ?
Sounds like someone trying to sell you a PPI policy years agolol

Get back to bed ffs.

The U.K. has said it does not want and will not put in a hard border, and there is nothing that the EU or anyone else can do to insist we have one, so your journey into NI will be as per today. However if the EU and Ireland wish to have a hard border then you will have more difficulties but at least you will know who to complain to. Have you ever noticed that whenever the EU do not wish to do something it is described as being ‘impossible’. This doesn’t mean that something is actually impossible, just that they do not wish to do it......

How does the UK stop EU citizens entering Northern Ireland, by the backdoor as Hoey said, without having border checks? As you know taking back control of immigration means checking immigrants coming into the UK. The proverbial red line. Not possible without a border on the island of Ireland imposed by the UK government. Otherwise, they are not taking back control.
