NI to remain in the common market. Not surprisingly it’s also what NI want.

And that is what will eventually happen if Great Britain is to leave rhe European Union on amiable terms.

Would have happened already if the Tory Party had not taken the easy option and entered into a deal with the toxic DUP to keep them in power after the 2017 GE.

GB would already be out on March 31st.

A Northern Ireland only Backstop, which is quite demonstrably very acceptable to businessmen, farmers, trade unions and the majority of citizens living in NI, is the only way out of this labyrinth that Brexit has landed us in.

I thought one reason that leavers wanted us to quit the EU was so that we would have "control over our borders". No border = no control, surely?

It's just laughable if it wasnt so serious.

Control borders - except the one land border to suit Irish problem

Give power back to Westminster - except where Leavers dont like the result

Empower the UK economy - except for the foreseeable future when it will need to be propped up by billions of emergency funds

Do loads of quick and easy Trade deals - except anything in the real world

The truth is Brexit is now just a pretence for a white right wing mob to try and get their crude way.

The truth is Brexit is now just a pretence for a white right wing mob (whatever that means) to try and get their crude way.

The truth is Remain is just a pretence for the white Brussels oligarchs to definitely get their crude way.

The difference is that you, like me, get a vote in the UK and if enough people are of the same mind, you can get rid of the white right wing mob. There is no getting rid of the oligarch power brokers in the EU because they are unelected. Plus, you wouldn't know what you were voting for as they never produce a manifesto. Its all done behind closed doors. Still, if that's what you want.

Still, if that's what you are daft enough to believe.

You’re about to have your second PM in a row hand picked by Tory members

Even Juncker says that the election of the new EU hierarchy is undemocratic. Coming from Juncker it must be bad. It is an undemocratic organisation and anyone who can't see it (or doesn't wan't to see it) is daft.

Bit ironic there, seeing as we're going to get a new Prime Minister "elected" by a miniscule percentage of the voters in this country.

So the public have no say in who the next leader of the country is.
The house of lords is unelected.
The head of state is unelected.

When did we ever hold a referendum on who the next leader of the country is? If its a GE we know who the PM will be before we vote. If its a change within a Parliament, the membership vote. It has always been so. No crafty changing of the rules as in the EU.
Don't understand the point of your comment re The House of Lords or Head of State?

Also, generally, although people don't vote directly to elect a PM, they vote for that party knowing that they have some say in who might govern the country. When the party in charge changes leader mid term, the people have lost that control. Hardly the purest form of democracy, no matter how long it's been done that way.
