Jesus Mary and Joseph do they teach you history over there ?

The WHOLE country voted by a decisive majority in the 1918 GE to leave the UK. Your response was to ignore that democratic wish and partition the island, threatening violence if your 'settlement' was rejected.

And 100 years later you now bleat on about democracy.

Jesus actually wept.

Ironic isn’t it.....

We don’t really care what he says. He is the leader of a small country that is about to find out what the big world of politics is all about.....he has already fallen foul of his mates in the EU regarding taxation rates and unbalanced playing fields. An unruly Brexit will destroy him....
You are making it all very personal Pete. Ireland is small country that will suffer in any outworkings of Brexit. I note you say ‘will destroy him’.

That says a lot Pete. He has become your nemesis, regardless of the people he is representing you have made it personal.

All logic out the window.

No. I want the ROI to prosper, but this guy has chosen to try and drag NI into the ROI by stirring up the border and a backstop. He knows what he is doing, but so does everyone else. If NI wants to join the ROI, then we all wish them good luck and good fortune. But they are not, so Varadkar should be looking for the best deal for the ROI, which he is making a complete arse of.....

If they choose to not be part of the U.K., then of course....that is democracy. But Scotland voted to remain part of the U.K. the U.K. voted to leave the EU, quite simple....

But you said NI voted to remain part of the U.K. ? Maybe it’s my fault for struggling to keep up but it looks like you’re chenging the goalposts to suit your position .

Not at all. In the beginning you decide which country to be in. Then the country decides which additional trade or political unions to be in. It’s very simple....
