It doesn't matter if it is 4 or 40%! If there were no checks goods could come in from Ireland, everyone in NI then gets them at EU rates and from there they could be moved to the mainland totally circumventing us being on WTO or any other tariffs. Good news is that NI's economy would boom as you would get all the businesses setting up hubs there. I can't see the EU being to happy with this though.

You either hard border the isle of Ireland against our own law and risk more trouble starting and possibly leading to the break up of the UK or you hard border N.Ireland from the rest of the UK which probably leads to more troubles and the break up of the UK.
Do your maths ....4 percent is doable- 40 percent massive problem....

The HRMC already sort out the different tax systems on the island of Ireland in time they could keep the open border and when technology improves the mere 4 percent of EU trade can be sorted!
Trade is mainly done with the UK.....60 percent the rest is worldwide.....bar 4 percent.....
Why is the 4% relevant? Why haven't you answered my questions one by one? Is the Brexiteers' plan just to wait, see and hope? If so, is that their policy on everything? Come on mate, if you are going to debate, debate properly. Don't be like your mate, Old Blue.

What did they do for trade when VAT levels were different rates in the North to the South....

You and others are saying for 4 percent of trade we have to stay I need a stranglehold of the EU either a customs uninion or a single market ?
That's more like a wing of a prawyer......
Northern Ireland would gain more on cheaper tarrifs with trade leaving the EU....

No we are not saying that. Just wondering how the border issue will be settled. I havnt a clue, but I voted remain cos I didnt have a clue. Didnt give it a moments thought actually.

You presumably voted Leave with an idea how we would actually do it. If not, why not?

Still doesn't answer the question that at least 6 posters have asked you now which again is how you are going to stop EU immigration to the UK with an open border in Ireland?
In you own time please..

You didn't take in the rest of my post Joey, that percentage would dramatically increase as effectively Ireland would become Great Britain's Amazon. If there are no checks then goods will flow freely until the EU enforce a hard border...which you guessed it leads to troubles and possibly the break up of the UK.
