Iran are in a bad place here. The need to be seen to retaliate/seek revenge is huge, the risks are bigger! Israel is on full attack mode, any steps the Iranians take will be dealt with very heavily.

They must have used a good proportion of their munitions stock in Gaza.
The US and UK seem to be happy to supply more weapons it seems. Also, just get it done now, level the Iran military machine while Israel are on full scale madness

Sounds good in theory but you know it's going to be the normal people trying to go about their lives peacefully who will end up paying the price. Iran vs Israel has the potential to escalate all the way to Armageddon.
Conspiracy nut theory: war with Iran allows weapons to stay being supplied so they can keep on going with the Gaza genocide.
Would have been interesting if Iran had achieved nuclear status!!

Yeah. I don't think Iran will be keeping that programme on ice much longer. Good job they aren't friends with any country with an active nuclear weapons programme to help them out...

It isn’t “everyone”, though. Since October 7th, every escalation has come from the Israeli side - often deliberately timed to stop efforts at peace.

Houthis in the red sea with tacit support from Iran, Hamas leadership based in Iran. They're no choir boys.
Still no excuse for the embassy strike and I think that Israel are by far the worst aggressor in the region here. But we shouldn't let anyone have a free pass to act badly. We will no doubt see an Iranian reaction soon and watch the indignation of the Netanyahus of this world and how they respond in kind.
I fear that the middle east is a catastrophe waiting to happen and will likely suck in other parts of the world if we're not careful.

That all true but the actions of the Israeli state are why these groups are doing things; if they’d not started a campaign that many authoritative people are calling a genocide then the Houthis would not be doing what they are. If the Israeli government hadn’t dealt with the Palestinians in the way they have the Hamas wouldn’t exist, never mind all the deliberate encouragement of Hamas that Netanyahu personally is responsible for.
The Israeli government carried out an act of war against a diplomatically protected building. The SC should have condemned it and ordered the Israeli government to cease all such attacks and provide recompense.
They’ve not done that and so there will presumably be some form of Iranians response. If it is a proportionate response that impacts Israel only, the Israeli government should be left to deal with it.

The Sunni Baloch group Jaish al-Adl has just attacked against Irnaian military posts in southeastern Iran.
The Sunni world (leaders and the extremes) have no love for the Iranian Shia regime. I am sure in time it will be understood that this is the reason that Sunni Arabs are not getting directly involved in the actions of Irans proxies, Hamas, the Houthis and Hexbollah.

It is also interesting the the UAE have invited Hezbollah, or the head of Hezbollah’s Liaison and Coordination Unit, Wafiq Safa, to the UAE. Having a mediating voice between Israel and Hezbollah that is not Iran might offer a slither of hope.
