2025/26 Iliman Ndiaye

Some idiot has posted he wants to leave, check his profile before you start crying.

It's not exactly what I'd do, but the club have already demonstrated they could replace Ndiaye with someone cheaper given they did exactly that last summer with grealish and booted Ndiaye out his favoured position
Ndiaye is on 45k p/w, Grealish is on 300k p/w. Even if he was to take a significant wage cut and signs for next to nothing Grealish would still cost significantly more than Ndiaye.

I wouldn't sell him because I can't see who's stumping up the money it'd take to get him. He's a good player who's worth more to us than he is to any other side and we'd be selling in a terrible vein of form

We can't go lashing £50m on players turning 30.

We paid a few bob to borrow Grealish. He was £50m+ to buy, plus insane wages. I go back to what I've just said about Bowen.

+ those type of circumstances come around pretty rarely.

If he has a World Cup I wouldn’t mind selling tbh if it helped overall squad planning. If we have any desire to bring back George and/or Grealish it puts Ndiaye on the right wing and I just don’t rate him out there. Would rather another proper right winger.

This is how I feel as well. What was even more frustrating about Ndiaye being on the right when Grealish was in the team was that you'd actually want those two combining, but it was very rare that they would because all our play would be focused down the left, especially as Dewsbury-Hall is left sided. Meanwhile Ndiaye would just be isolated, O'Brien offers nothing going forward so teams can just double up on him, and it's basically up to him to just pull off a bit of magic when he would get the ball.

It's just a figure to demonstrate everyone has a price.

We'd do well to remember though that this clubs recruitment has been very poor. You're saying you'd take £50m for him - I've little confidence in our ability to replace Ndiaye at £50m. We spent more than that on Dibling+Aznou.

The people we have in place put great emphasis on PL experience and it's a market where Omari Hutchinson goes for around £40m. Johnson went to Palace for £35m an wasn't it £20m+ "agreed" with Palace for Dwight McNeil?
It's so weird to me that we've had 3 owners now and all of them are obsessed with the whole "Premier League Experience" bs even tho other clubs absolutely are not embracing that. Almost every club above us went out and got players from outside the PL as their main source of transfers. Yet, 3 owners now, we sit here and make sure most signings have that crap.

Don't think you can blame him.

Doesn't seem the type of player who grew up dreaming of playing in a Moyes 4-5-1 system and spending 60/70% of the game chasing after the ball and helping protect either a centre half playing out of position or a lad who would struggle for a game in League 2.

And in possession, trying to guess which direction a big boot forward from Keane or Tarkowski is going to come off Beto or Barry's head. Because even those 2 don't know.

Cool, please provide verified information on Ndiayes wage since it's so easily accessible
It's well known that Ndiaye is not one of our better payed players, hence us offering him new terms which he's turned down. Everything I can find online has him at 45k p/w. Might not be exactly correct or account for bonuses, aware that this stuff can often be wrong but it will be around that ballpark and certainly won't be double that number.

Although even if he was on 100k p/w or anything close to that, Grealish would still be on triple his weekly wage, making him significantly more expensive.

It's really not complicated.
