2025/26 Iliman Ndiaye

It's well known that Ndiaye is not one of our better payed players, hence us offering him new terms which he's turned down. Everything I can find online has him at 45k p/w. Might not be exactly correct or account for bonuses, aware that this stuff can often be wrong but it will be around that ballpark and certainly won't be double that number.

Although even if he was on 100k p/w or anything close to that, Grealish would still be on triple his weekly wage, making him significantly more expensive.

It's really not complicated.

We can't go lashing £50m on players turning 30.

We paid a few bob to borrow Grealish. He was £50m+ to buy, plus insane wages. I go back to what I've just said about Bowen.

+ those type of circumstances come around pretty rarely
Again why not, it's not the 1980s when players are finished at 31/32 anymore, he's scored more than him and has more assists in a worse side. And here's me thinking you were going to give me some Einstienesk reason why, and all you are giving me is because we can't.😆

We can, we shouldn't. Certainly not for Jarrod Bowen, certainly not for a squad that isn't one player away from competing for Europe.

You’re right players hit their peaks around 25 to 27 now and are clearly worse players around 29/30 the vast majority of the time.

What player
A player.

This squad isn't one single player away from competing for a trophy (or Europe).

One single player won't make the difference.

If it was, you could justify blowing 50 million on one older player with no re-sale value (to me, at least).

But the squad isn't one player away from anything. It needs multiple players across many positions.

And certainly not Jarrod Bowen, who is a fine player but not worth that.

I like him but he can be frustrating with his end product as well. He’s the kind of player you look to keep and still look to add better players so you have an improved and more competitive squad.

If he does want to leave well that is up to him I guess, it’s kind of sad only a short period into what is supposedly a new era.

it happened with Moshiri as well with Stones, Lukaku and Barkley.

All clubs lose their better players at some point, the successful and competitive ones though, on a lot of other occasions , they usually leave having already achieved something of significance. That’s not been the case here.

It wouldn't shock me if he did ask to leave in all honesty, was moved around the team to accommodate others, and also don't feel like he is as trusted as others too.

My major issue is, he is 26, so coming into his prime years - and we will 100000% sell him and bring someone in older.

My big worry for the club at the moment is the forshadowing a west ham account posted recently where he said "Moyes isnt directly to blame for us being relegated, but he left us with an aging side which needed much work".

Moyes "NOW" attitude and buying players who he deems a NOW player, is going to bite us badly... I really hoped we wouldnt be in this position, Ill be gutted if Ndiaye goes - even though he was goosed and wants great the end of the season - hes undoubtedly been one of the bright points the last few seasons, my bigger worry is what Moyes is setting us up for.

Older players, and not much forward planning. Genuinely trying to figure out where the anger should be pointed - Moyes for his control grabbing, or the "flat structure" which clearly doesnt give an eye on the future.

Ill also be shocked if we sign George...

His stats say differently, what I'm saying is if he goes then Bowen is an ideal replacement for me.

If any fans of any club should understand the importance of resale value, it should be Everton fans.

Are you really suggesting that Ndiaye and Grealish are on comparable wages? The exact number isn't really as important as the point that an older player on higher wages ends up costing the same amount, or more, than a younger player on lower wages even with a lower transfer fee for the giffer.
