He clearly is. Fckuing embarrassing that he's actually carrying it on after being found out last week, and the amount of effort he puts into being a fake blue is frightening.

It's almost like he's convincing himself he's a blue. Like he genuinely wants to be one but can't. The ginger kid who dies his hair to try and be accepted (Sorry Brennan).

Anyway, I think if you wouldn't take 4th right now you're mental. 8 years since we finished there. It's a long hard season, we still have a huge task on our hands to finish 4th. It's exciting at the moment, but largely unlikely that the better teams will remain this volatile in their results throughout the season.

Chelsea will enter a rich run of form at some point, and surely flex their financial muscles in January. Man Utd look to be entering a string of good results in the league too.

I'm confident we can do it. Martinez and the ability in our first XI has me believing. Having said that... Guarantee me 4th now? All day long I'd take it.

He's been outed dozens of times in the last 3 years, he just leaves enough of a gap between posting that most people forget he's a kopite. Just don't pay him any attention.

At the moment we are title contenders. Feel the moment and keep believing. Why on earth should I take 4th place if we can achieve more? Push for the title or 2nd place to the very least

Is right mate, the mentality of settling for 4th place is the same mentality of settling for a 1-0 win with 15 minutes to go vs the likes of Norwich etc, had 10 years of that mentality and we all saw where it got us.

Aim for the title, im sure thats what bobby is starting to say to the players, the confidence is growing week in week out and why start trying to self deflate it by lowering expectations

Liverpool are a suarez ban/broken leg or loss of form away from dropping like a stone
Chelsea are in total disarray with their defense looking all over the shop and some of their best players not fitting in with mourinho's methods/style, could last all year until he gets them moulded and shifts off those he doesnt want and brings in the ones he does
Utd have moyes and he will bottle it in the big games, wont play with the mentality to challenge for the tile and is hoping for top 4 at most by now
Spurs - errrm lol, enough said, already changed one manager, have a squad a new manager will have to go through the entire process of trying to find whats what again
Arsenal - could be entering free fall after the last few results have knocked them for six, today will be massive and another loss will see them in a mess
City - Away form terrible, if they fix that they will run away with the league, but they have to fix it sooner rather than later as the longer it goes on the more endemic it will become
Newcastle - are one blowout away from dropping like a stone, can see them easily going on a run with 4-5 losses in 6 as more likely than maintaining their current form, if they lose cabaye in jan to another club they will finish 9th or lower

City aside theirs no team in the league right now id take vs us one on one, and were matching them all in form vs the lower teams, so city aside why not try to push on, its in our own hands - and jan will tell us a lot about if the manager gets the support he richly deserves to make a push this year

I agree with every word ot that, bluestevon.

But I would still accept a 4th place finish right now......(I won't use the word "settle" right now as it has negative connotations :D)

I really hope that yous are 100% right.

I know there is a habit of one or two regular posters who like to, without tongue-in-cheek, regularly call out blues as kopites...gets very tiresome, and as we all know, there is no greater insult.

If Cooks really is a blue, then I'm sorry for all this, mate...just dust it off and carry on.

If you're a red, tho'...then you'd probably have more fun posting on a Liverpool forum :)

If we "settle for 4th" we'll never actually WIN anything. Moyes would settle for 4th, Martinez wouldn't.

Fight the good fight, let the cards fall as they will, and in the end trust that our football has been good enough to get 4th or even higher on merit.

Still a LONG way to go.. BUT, our aim should be:

- Win our remaining 2 home fixtures this year.
- Match or exceed our points tally for the 2nd half of the season.

That's not unrealistic.
We've not looked inferior to anyone we've played, and we've played all of the top guys.
We are well capable of turning some of those draws into wins.

Aim high. Go for broke. Seize the opportunity.

Yes, but the question posed in the Poll is "would you accept fourth".....not would you "settle for fourth".

Which is a different proposition.

If the season finished the exact way it is now mate with us in 4th im not gonna be devastated, far from it, but right now i see the potential we have and so many things have fallen into place at this moment in time to actually give us a chance at the previously unthinkable, one thing for sure I'm gonna enjoy this ride for the rest of the year, and for all the younger blues out their who are too young to have witnessed the 80's everton or even earlier ones, then i hope they gt the chance to see something really special.

looking at the last 6 games and seeing City, Arsenal and Utd all having to come to our place, i can just imagine the cauldron that will be IF the leagues looking similar to how it is right now, will be like the 80's all over again with the atmosphere

City, Arsenal and Utd all at home in the last 6 games with everything to play for and a manager who seems to thrive in that must win environment, Spurs away where they are playing awful, only chelsea away from the horrid games list, the rs at anfield, sorry but its a derby and home/away loses a lot of the impact in that one, it will just be a mental game. Overall our position coming into that final 6 games is gonna be determined by the games like the last few, teams we should beat home and away. If we can manage that then we have a great shot at coming into the last 6 knowing wins can mean something truly special

Although I agree with you I'd be very happy with just 4th this season as then we could kick on even further next season. I wouldn't say accepting 4th is a defeatist attitude.

This was supposed to be a transition season remember.

TBH I would be delighted with 4th too, especially in such a closely fought season, but the way you actually GET 4th - or better - is to do precisely the opposite - you go for broke and then hopefully accept the final result.

If most of use are content to settle for 4th at the stage, that mentality creeps into the team, we start drawing matches we could win, and in the end we fall short. That would mean again missing out on CL and having no chance to secure a Lukaku or Deulafeu to really kick on.

Winning mentality etc.. starts right here, right now.

We could finish 4th and not even get champions league football...

Errrm how mate? they changed the rules so that if a team wins the CL or eufa cup then they get an extra place now not at the expense of the league position 4th team unless im mistaken
