No chance would I accept 4th.

We've got a good chance of finishing higher.

4th would still mean a bloody tough qualifier.

I can't give up the dream that we're going to win this bloody thing.

That's the thing tho isn't it, very very rarely does 4th mean a tough qualification game. It's usually a no mark from Switzerland or something.

We were screwed back when we got villareal! Have you ever seen a English 4th place team receive a draw like that before or after?

Would take 4th all day long!!

Yes. We are a work in progress but desperately need champions league money to compete in the transfer market and improve every season. We can finish higher in the league once we secure funds and European football on a regular basis. One step at a time. The top 8 is still very close.

I would, but I honestly think we are playing more consistently than anyone else this year. Since the first 3 games(martinez's brief settling in period) we've picked up more points than anyone! Just imagine if we're within a couple of points of man city in our last home game against them, with everything to play for...

Id rip your arms off for 4th atm.

Were beginning to look a bit tired imo. Well to be more precise...Lukaku looks ****ed!

Not scored in 4 games...cant hold the ball up, looks done after 60/70 minutes. The kid needs a rest imo but No Jela, no kone, no options really unless he pushed Mirallas up top and starts osman.

Really dont see how we have the squad to compete for the TITLE (can you beleive were even talking about it at xmas!) over another 20 games...but if we can get through the very busy xmas period there or there abouts, weve got a chance when we go back to one game a week.

But yes, given the option now id take 4th. Who wouldnt?

I'm saying no and I'm not lying.

- We are 2 points off the top with very nearly half the season gone.
- We have the best defensive record in the league, with the least number of goals conceded.
- We have only lost 1 game all season, less than anyone else in the league.
- We are 10 games unbeaten.
- We have already won 4 away games this season, equaling the number we won in the whole of last season.
- Our home form is great.

I don't fear anyone in this league. It's so wide open. You can forget anything about previous seasons, that no longer applies. Anything is possible.

Ok, let's counteract this just to balance it out

- We have drawn three times as many games as Arsenal and City and more than double that of Chelsea and Liverpool.
- We have as many wins as Newcastle and Tottenham
- After as many games last season, we were also 4th.

I don't think its a case of fearing anyone in this league, we've done epic so far and I'm made up however I think we need manage our expectations. Title winning teams do not have a bench like ours, in the second half of the season when one or two injuries/suspensions kick in, that is where we will be found out.

Are you sure you're not a red?

There's a consistent theme to your posts that subtly knock everton and raise doubts about keeping hold of Barkley or everton falling away.

He has a point about our bench...looked a bit light yesterday.

But who says were gonna be blighted with injuries and suspensions?

Once were through xmas and back to one game a week ill be happy. And if were still in the top 4 which i expect we will be then anything is possible.

Id literally like to see one or two signings made on Jan 1st though just to make me feel more confident (y)

Just can't help but think that with all the uncertainty regarding how our future squad will look like in 12 months due to our loan players there will be a DESPERATION to do the impossible. To actually win the fookin' title!!!!!!!!

I THINK WE'VE DECIDED THE TIME IS NOW.

I bet you anything this is how Martinez is looking at it :)

Absolutely correct, if we can reinforce in January and maintain our form, anything is possible.

But injuries ARE inevitable. Every team suffers them at some point, Deulofeu is already out and you'll see those knocks happen in the latter part of the season. And if your being honest, looking at our bench do you feel it has sufficient quality to maintain a realistic tilt on the title/top four?

Because that is where those top four places are won and lost.
