Absolutely correct, if we can reinforce in January and maintain our form, anything is possible.

But injuries ARE inevitable. Every team suffers them at some point, Deulofeu is already out and you'll see those knocks happen in the latter part of the season. And if your being honest, looking at our bench do you feel it has sufficient quality to maintain a realistic tilt on the title/top four?

Because that is where those top four places are won and lost.

Yes, we'll be ok. DEulofeu is already out, and we're coping, Baines has been out for a month, and we're coping, Gibson has been away all season, and we're coping.

If Jags gets injured, i seriously believe that Stones could step in, so long as it isn't long term, same for Distin. Barry has played a few times at LB, as proved in the Derby, where Baines, regularly considered our most influential player, went off at half time. Oviedo can play the wings, Osman in the Middle, Mirallas up front. Hibbert is getting fit again to cover for Coleman.

If your asking whether we can swallow up one or two injuries, then yes, absolutely we can. If your asking, can we handle 8 lomg term injuries, then no, but not many would.

Look at it another way. Liverpool are considered this year as title contenders. If they get an injury to Suarez, one player, can they replace him? Where will their goals come from?

If Lukaku gets injured, then Jelavic can go in, even if just to make up the numbers, and we'll score goals with our full backs and center midfielders.

I said no, but I want to aim for 1st.

I like this new mantality.

Come Jan 1st, we could be sitting very pretty, and could attract a different type of player to "keep us ticking over".

You never know.

Well this is the thing, Liverpool didn't have Suarez for the first 5 games of the season and Sturridge was a more than adequate replacement. This is the thing that Chelsea, City, Arsenal, United and to a lesser extent Spurs have, they have depth should they get injuries to key players. And that is something that we will have to focus on if we are to keep pace with them in the latter parts of the season.

At the moment we are title contenders. Feel the moment and keep believing. Why on earth should I take 4th place if we can achieve more? Push for the title or 2nd place to the very least

Are you sure you're not a red?

There's a consistent theme to your posts that subtly knock everton and raise doubts about keeping hold of Barkley or everton falling away.

He clearly is. Fckuing embarrassing that he's actually carrying it on after being found out last week, and the amount of effort he puts into being a fake blue is frightening.

It's almost like he's convincing himself he's a blue. Like he genuinely wants to be one but can't. The ginger kid who dies his hair to try and be accepted (Sorry Brennan).

Anyway, I think if you wouldn't take 4th right now you're mental. 8 years since we finished there. It's a long hard season, we still have a huge task on our hands to finish 4th. It's exciting at the moment, but largely unlikely that the better teams will remain this volatile in their results throughout the season.

Chelsea will enter a rich run of form at some point, and surely flex their financial muscles in January. Man Utd look to be entering a string of good results in the league too.

I'm confident we can do it. Martinez and the ability in our first XI has me believing. Having said that... Guarantee me 4th now? All day long I'd take it.

Ok, let's counteract this just to balance it out

- We have drawn three times as many games as Arsenal and City and more than double that of Chelsea and Liverpool.
- We have as many wins as Newcastle and Tottenham
- After as many games last season, we were also 4th.

I don't think its a case of fearing anyone in this league, we've done epic so far and I'm made up however I think we need manage our expectations. Title winning teams do not have a bench like ours, in the second half of the season when one or two injuries/suspensions kick in, that is where we will be found out.

Wrong. We were 6th.

Fortune favours the brave.

RIght now i want to see how far we can go rather than settle for a 4th place which is meaningless when you are not seeded like we are. Fact is, we win our next 9 home games, we will need 14 points from the remaining 12 games to hit 75 points. Very easily done they way we are going.

Now say out of the 12 other games we win 7 of them, that is 21 extra points, puts us on 81 instead, much higher than 4th.

It is all in our own hands now boys, the difference is, we are now being feared.
