Current Affairs How do we tackle terrorism?

Sat at my daughters Gym class yesterday and as usual I was wigging into people's conversations (one of my particular favourite pastimes) and a more well to do family were talking about the terror attacks in London, when the mum piped up that we should push the big red button and nuke them. 'that would stop them'. Being her final words. At which point I decided to join in and ask who 'they' were. After squirming for a moment I was told 'bloody Muslims' with her friends and family all agreeing. After telling her she was ignorant beyond belief she told me I was supporting their crusade for not wanting to get rid of them all.

I can honestly say it wad the most surreal conversation I've ever had...

We get rid of the 3000 known extremists today plus any known Muslim who has visited Syria/Lybia/Iraq etc over the last 5 years until they have been thoroughly vetted!!

If they are British nationals then they need to be locked up, With immediate effect.. If we don't act in an aggressive manner then one of us on here will be effected by the next attack or the one after that because 100% this will only get worse and more frequent! Enough is enough now it's getting too close to home and I don't give a toss about I am upsetting..

A few days ago my 8 year old daughter was asking me about the bombings in Manchester and why the man done that, how do you explain that?? then we was watching the the tribute concert (Ariana Grande) the other day and she said "dad would want to be there" I said no it's not my type of music and she replied "I wouldn't just incase there was another man with a bomb" THAT is not the type of thoughts I want going through my 8 year old daughters head!! In the UK... This once great nation is no longer great!

What would you arrest the 3000 people for, Under what legislation? Plus you're then factoring in anybody , including those which there isn't even any intell about who've been to places you've deemed inappropriate. That's basically internment isn't it ? You'd also need huge numbers of police officers and somewhere to put those arrested, unless you used the military to assist and put them in camps , again which isn't practical or desirable and is once again basically internment .

I understand the reaction and I agree we have to look at tackling the serious issues we have but I believe we have to stay within the confines of legislation and practicality .

What a pile of rubbish that is mate. I hope your daughter grows up to be a level headed person and respects other cultures and faiths and not associate the actions of a few to a huge demographic.

Don't worry about that she will do! It's a shame a certain faith and culture don't think the same... My wife's side of the family are 80% black so a lot of mydaughters cousins are just before you edge towards the 'racist' slur

Tackle the problem head on with Saudi Arabia and Wahhabism.

We know the idealogy and funding comes from that movement but we turn a blind eye because its Saudi Arabia.

This report which is going to be hidden from the public view will back it up.

It's the legislation and human rights BS that has got us in this mess.. So your saying we have to wait for them to commit the crime before doing anything about it??? When we know quite well what there agenda is!

Oh I agree 100% that Saudi is the breeding field and funding for them and yes that needs addressing ASAP! But am talking about the ones who are already here and who are on the 'watch' list! We can't sit back and wait for them to cross the line before doing something about it.

Its a tough one really. All the attackers had been reported to the police, by the muslim community and the relevant action wasnt taken.

No mate you haven't you stumbled across someone who is not scared to speak my mind!! I don't buy into this PC pulava.. I know there is s lot more people who agree with me but are too scared to be labelled a 'racist' which I'm not BTW.

Anyway that's my view how would you keep our streets safe from terrorism??

Its a tough one really. All the attackers had been reported to the police, by the muslim community and the relevant action wasnt taken.

We have to stop things like this slipping through the net. Communities need to work together with the security services.

Again I agree but it seems I have said somewhere that I want all Muslims removed?? No I want the ones who are on the UKs watch list removed immediately not all of them, the one who pose a threat to ourselves and our kids..
