It's the legislation and human rights BS that has got us in this mess.. So your saying we have to wait for them to commit the crime before doing anything about it??? When we know quite well what there agenda is!
Long long before the human rights act we had rule of law in this country , it's the core principle of what makes this country what it is . In my opinion Arresting people because "we know what their agenda is " does not belong here I'll be honest with you .
I understand that within that 3000 there are some that need much closer examination and if their is anything we can prove , then we should prove it . I'm happy to look at legislation that tackles that . Anyone posting support of IS then I'm happy to have them prosecuted .
There are a host of roads I'm happy to go down but arresting those 3000 tomorrow and anybody whose been to those countries you suggested is firstly completely impractical and secondly in this country already been proved to be ineffective as we tried it in the north of Ireland and it failed very very badly .
Let's though deal with logistics who arrests them ? actually we can't say arrest because it's not arrest it's rounding them up . In some cases because they've been to see family overseas , I'm not talking about the 3000 but the additional thousands you also want detaining . I presume we do It all in one day because otherwise a large number will disappear the day after or do we not mention were disappearing them ? Then where do we put them ? It can't be prison as there is no space for convicted criminals so what do we do build camps ?
All we are going to do is create a rallying call for IS and extremists. A number of terrorist attacks or planned attacks have featured people not on lists so do we start expanding the detentions if something happens in those circumstances ?
We don't have enough police officers ri deal with the current list let's provide resources for the police and security services, although once we start interning people my guess is we might see intelligence from the community which has provided these names recently seriously dry up when we've got soldiers kicking doors in . Let's tackle radicalisation in prison , let's make more efforts and push the communities to make more efforts at integration. Im happy to look at deportation of foreign nationals that present a risk , we ban football fans and remove their passports using civil court evidence .
There are ways to target this but I can't believe people think internment can work , we are supposed to learn from history and it doesn't work .
