Train police to not care if they are accused of being racist by remembering the law should apply to all equally and investigate without too much burocracy.

Employ mental health practitioners to assess the mental well being for all children in school to identify people vulnerable to fanatasicm. You could double down with the data being available to on site career guidance counsellors who could provide information of jobs they would naturally gravitate to and should they wish to pursue those careers provide generous support grants to enable children from families of all means have an equal opportunity to feel purpose in a vocation.

Legalise drugs and make cannabis mandatory. Never saw someone stoned start a fight.

Conscription between 16-18.

Clone virgins and provide all young lads with 43.

Have schools show programming on how these groups recruit and demonstrate how the suicide bombers are puppets and chumps.

Or accept that we cannot control everything and be grateful for every day we have and trust the govt will make the right decisions to protect us as much as they can.

That is not a bad idea, educate a counter argument that should at least make them think twice. Emphasise the fact that you never see anyone with real importance in the group blow themselves up and seeing they stress how the gods will bestow gifts for their sacrifices yadda yadda, then you'd think they would be lining up too.

If you can sow the seed that suicide bombers are nothing more than just pawns in a game, hopefully they will steer clear from extremism.

You'd just get more Lee Rigby or Westminster bridge style attacks. A kitchen knife or mounting the pavement in a car don't require a lot of money.
Mate, you are missing the point, only today, over 50 people were killed and injured in Egypt when gunmen attacked a bus.
They were supplied with automatic weapons, uniforms, vehicles and training.

stop turning the other cheek and saying hate doesn't win here, we love everybody.
Stop saying the war on terrorism isn't working so stop it

It isn't a war on terror, it's a reaction to Islamic caliphate infiltration...albeit not a very effective one
when people wake up to the fact that this is total war - but not as we usually know / see it, with regiments, battalions and divisions etc.

So not a 'hot war' and obviously not a 'cold war' - but a 'slow war'...no surprise that the authorities are still, as always, fighting the last war
How to win it? I don't know.
What I do know is that 99.999whatever% of people in Europe and the Middle east just want to live their lives in peace and that the hard part is sorting out the other 0.001whatever% - Then kill them
In total war you have to be even more total war that the enemy, but beware

'He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.'

Respectfully, you are missing the point mate. These people are committed and will find a way regardless. Sure they would have a harder time, but they would still find a way. I believe there are lots of videos on the internet that instruct on how to make a bomb cheaply from easily acquired materials.

It's a game of hearts and minds, not money.

The American community is not doing enough to stop this

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2017/05/strikes-kill-106-civilians-mayadeen-170526132541011.html and just incase people say that's a biased news station here's one from BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-40051640. No ones gonna be that arsed mate it's like our civilians lives are worth more than theirs or they're just 'collateral damage' and it's acceptable because we didn't intend to kill them and they're all too busy playing the victim at the moment.

State of this.

So to summarize:

- The war on terror isn't very effective but we should ignore that and carry on.

- 99.9% of the middle east is innocent but we should conduct a new style of total war on the region.

- To defeat the terrorists we have to be even more total war than they are but to be careful not become just as bad as them.

- Admitting that you don't know what the solution is despite stating:
"stop turning the other cheek and saying hate doesn't win here, we love everybody.

Stop saying the war on terrorism isn't working so stop it."

All in the same post.

Fantastic stuff.

Foreign policy is not what created jihadists and is not the reason we are being viciously attacked. Foreign policy has been a reactionary attempt to solve the problem which hasn't worked and needs to be rethought because the biggest threat is homegrown.

Simply not true. Our foreign policy over there has followed a similar pattern for more than 100 years. Calling it a reaction is simply laughable
