Current Affairs How do we tackle terrorism?

Perhaps because the thread is entitled 'how do we tackle terrorism' ?.....

It may be, but it is the equivalent of shooting the breeze, so I don't think it's fair to criticise someone for not having a solution when I can't imagine that should even be expected of a lay person. Indeed, without putting motives in his mouth, I kinda thought @Bungle put this thread up in large part because desktop generals were derailing a thread that was largely about remembrance and sorrow with their fag packet strategies for fixing the world.

Why do we need a solution Pete? Seriously. Are we really suggesting that any of us know more about this than GCHQ or people in the MoD?

Pete wants to do what ISIS wants him to do.

ISIS want the British people to be angry with the muslim community. They want us to react, if they can cause more young muslims to feel distant and ostracised they can prey on them and brain wash them.

I've no idea what the solution is, but we have to take some responsibilty for our actions throughout the years from the Balfour declaration all the way to the so called war on terror.

But I was replying to a post that was criticising everyone else for having solutions he did not agree with, while putting nothing forward, so I thought my question was quite valid.....

I don't want anyone to be angry with the Muslim community, I'd like all communities to be angry with the terrorists and to help close them down......

I have no idea how the control order / TPIM system works, but that article does beg the question of whether the Home Secretary actually signs off and is personally made aware of on a control order being imposed or lifted. If she did, to say that is potentially a huge story is to understate it about a million times.
