Current Affairs How do we tackle terrorism?

I can answer that.. It's abhorrent.
Can I ask how this act(s) moves us forward in deciding how we deal with terrorism?

Unfortunately, you will have to follow the thread. Maybe one way of dealing with 'terrorism' is for the West to not try and control the Middle East.

I've followed the thread.
Kenya isn't in the Middle East.
I'm asking why you're placing such importance on that issue from 50-60 years ago?

And as an Irish Republican you will know that a reaction causes another reaction. The 'religious liooneys' just does' t wash.
Different agendas mate. They ARE religious looneys. It's not really that difficult to understand. They want to impose their religion on EVERYONE EVERYWHERE as opposed to occupied territory. I guarantee you that concert murdering [Poor language removed] from Manchester hasn't a clue about Libya n the historical context etc. He was just told by the Cult that he was gonna be a martyr

Anyone who disagrees with him.......

You hit the nail on the head, right now we have a dangerous situation occurring throughout our higher education system in the states, people are shutting people down before they have even had a chance to speak, Berkeley being a prime example. Unfortunately these young people are going to realize that out in the real world life just doesn't work like that, you are going to meet many people who disagree with you and that's ok, what you need to be able to do is discuss, explain why you disagree, point out your views and why you have them. It doesn't mean you will persuade to change their viewpoint, but you were able to back up your cause. Unfortunately I fear these young people will not be able to do this.

Personally got a lot of time for the lids recognising dangerous fascist and bigoted views and condemning them. Good on them. I have great hope for this generation as the older generation they are effectively replacing as voters have been shown to be vile small minded xenophobes.

All yer nannas.

Good thing there's no bigotry against age cohorts on display here, then.

I'll live to be ninety just to spite you, LAD. I have no idea how I'll be voting then.

Neither do you. Life's a funny thing like that.

You'll see. Stick around. Narrow minds come in all sort of ages, 18 to 88 and beyond.

The youth in Asia. That's who will save us from the old bigots. Hope you find youth in Asia.

Did you know that UNICEF estimate over 500,000 Iraqi children have died due to UN sanctions since 1990. Even the most conservative estimates have it in the 200,000 range.

The economic sanctions that you refer to were/are too punitive, but they did not come out of nowhere. The sanctions were imposed in response to Iraq's brutal occupation of Kuwait and its deadly missile strikes against Saudi Arabia and Israel. And the sanctions were imposed by the UN, not just western countries.

Besides, the UN came up with the Oil-for-Food programme in order to alleviate any poverty that the sanctions might cause, but Iraq refused to participate in it for years.

The indigence that Iraq suffered due to the actions of Saddam does not give a British/Libyan terrorist the right to kill small children with a nail bomb.

I assume the lie is that British soldiers did not ram broken bottles into women's vaginas and men's backsides in Kenya.

I think he's referring to the fact that Enoch Powell delivered a stirring parliamentary speech in 1959 in which he attacked the UK's treatment of Kenyan prisoners during the Mau Mau uprising.

I'm old enough to remember it.
