I think the core difference is that Christians are content to sit back and wait for the end times, whereas some elements of extreme Islam believe that to get to paradise you need to blow people up

I've just said you learn from what has exacerbated in the past and avoid them - learn mistakes. Have detailed reasons for acting, exit strategies, coherent plans that learn from mistakes etc. It can improve things by taking out areas which lend support for these acts and act in themselves by existing as a rallying point for extremism across the globe.

Just because you're stupid once doesn't automatically mean you'll be stupid again. The one definite in all this right now is that with us doing next to nothing, the threat gets bigger and bigger, because the threat isn't contained and we are not even trying to contain it.

No it isn't, it just has more checks and balances on it in the communities they operate in, because the western world is much more secular.

Christianity in itself is as open to corruption of its message in exactly the same way Islam or any religion is. See the Westboro Baptists, for example.

Yes mate, in a war, the opposing side will react to you fighting the war.

That's why you want to win the war.

And it is a war. A guerilla one that requires an adaptive response in my view, not surrender and hoping they'll go away.

This has nothing to do with Muslims and everything to do with extremist terrorists. The troubles in NI had nothing to do with being Irish or Catholic or Protestant and everything to do with extremist terrorists. We don't have to fight Muslims or Islam just the extremists, but we should be ruthless in doing so. The waters get muddied when liberals try to include everybody and therefore reasons why nothing can be done. Things can be done. Remove known extremists, remove known instigators of violence, remove known ISIS fighters. Until we have the moral courage to face up to this, expect many more tributes and vigils and flowers......

The 'troubles' in Ireland has/had everything to do with the British occupying part of Ireland. The reason they have been put on the back burner is due to the Good Friday Agreement contained in which is a snail's pace to a United Ireland.
The so called 'remove known extremists' solution was tried in occupied Ireland, and was called internment and they were locked up in Long Kesh. All this did was recruit even more people to the Republican cause. The same will happen if any UK government was daft enough to try this again with people in this country.

And it's not as if we've exhausted diplomacy when it comes to this issue either

I'm not saying negotiate with terrorists btw, but rather try to set up links with the nations that house them, so that they might be inclined to help us combat the issue
