A very touching picture mate, and very emotive

If we lock every single Muslim adult up in Britain we can 100% prevent it happening again

We can even call it something like 'the final solution'

Exactly - for innocent victims of our bombing campaigns and drone strikes we are the terrorists

The UK takes the most risk averse view to any bombing. Any potential for harming innocents immediately cancels the strike. This 'soldier' waited until he saw the faces of the children before he blew them up. Do not even try to equate the UK armed forces with these animals........

Does the US share that risk averse view?

More school tours of mosques

Happens quite a lot already, where I live anyway.
Not just school children either, quite a few of the local mosques had open days in February ( I think it's an annual thing ? ).

To be honest, as far as tackling terrorism, education is unlikely to be that effective, it's a very small minority of Muslims that ISIS are persuading ( either directly or indirectly ) to carry out these acts and, there will always be unbalanced individuals and /or warped fundamentalists for them to radicalise. I know it's a bit of a glib thing to say, but, dealing with ISIS isn't like dealing with the majority of terrorists groups, because there isn't really one "thing" that they want in return for stopping.

There is a big difference between securing known fundamentalists or those who have returned from their ISIS duties and everyone else. The IRA consisted of just a few hundred people, but who killed thousands. I would be very happy for a few hundred jihadists to be locked up to protect our people.......

Ask the same question 30 years ago in Britain and you'd have gotten similar poll results about homosexuality in large parts of 'white Britain', 50 years ago it was illegal, still was until the 80's in Scotland.

As for the Wife results, 8% of non Muslims thought it was acceptable - with absolutely zero base in religion or culture for thinking so.

Results such as these need a context - and i will guarantee something, that the results would be far far more compatible with the general populace if they where asking 2nd/3rd generation Muslims, ofc a first generation Muslim would hold a lot of his own beliefs from his parent country still.

Quite......I agree that the results were taken from a small sample. They are not my figures....I've just linked to a poll to which I trust is a reputable source.

Thankfully, 'white Britain' has moved on over the last 50 years. Other cultures have not.

That said, your 2nd/3rd generation Muslim argument perhaps doesn't hold true? All of the recent terrorist attacks in the UK have not been perpetrated by 1st generation Muslims or even recent immigrants. They have been carried out by 'home grown' terrorists in their 20's and 30's...born and bred here in the UK... so probably 2nd generation or 3rd generation.....Within that generation, there appears to be a deep split between those who want to integrate and progress vs those who want to remain in the dark ages.

There is such a deep rooted problem that exists, it's beyond my comprehension...

How to prevent terrorism?
The toughest question. I don't know
But I do know fear is not an option.
Alienating whole groups for the actions of the few is not an option
Electing governments with 'for profit' foreign policies has to stop.
We have to promote understanding and inclusion at the local level so kids don't get radicalized.
We have to stop spending money on twentieth century weapons for twentieth century wars and invest in digital surveillance of certain parts of the internet, We need to take control of their digital message.
And we need to work harder on diplomacy, we need to talk to people we could never imagine talking to.
I dunno,
Much love to the people of Manchester and all of you in the north west.

The root cause is the radicalisers. Not the radicalised. I think we need to monitor all suspected of radicalising young people. They spread the hate so are the root cause.

But I just dunno. It's so complex. We need to do something but it's just so hard to know what would be effective. Equally it's completely negligent to do nothing when our children are at risk.

You hit the nail on the head with the radicalisers. And once again, we know who these cretins are but allow them to poison the minds of impressionable fools. It's about time we dropped our tolerance level a notch.......

I'll think you'll find that the likes of Bin Laden, snook in and took advantage of the general instability in Afghanistan, during the war with the Soviets mate.

Russia hasn't suffered as badly as the West at the hands of these nutters as they know the Soviets will hit them twice as hard for every atrocity committed against Soviet citizens.

Christ alive, total nonsense

Edit: I see @bluestevon has put up the stats.

All very nice in theory mate, but you have an opinion and trust in the government which is not born out by actual facts

Without delving you sound very much like former or current armed forces mate
