Thing is mate, they're not really upset/offended. It's just something to try and deflect from the fact that one of their players may have racially abused one of ours.

There is another difference between us and them , you say may have racially abused . You offer up the prospect that he didn’t say it , like most blues will accept completely the push could and should have been punished . They find that concept alien , they simpler wouldn’t entertain either prospect if it was the other way around .

Interesting by the way - not seen this before. A Coventry player (aged 25 at the time) got a £1k fine and a one match ban for using the term "faggots" on Twitter.

If they do go after Holgate, the FA can't really give any greater punishment to Holgate than this.

The fine could easily be increased (relative to earnings) but I agree any suspension would likely match.

If that means turning a blind eye to racism on the field because they know it isn't 100% captured on camera, then so be it. I'm certain if the FA looked at every player's Twitter account from when they were teenagers they would dredge up all sorts!
