Haha, top top post that

I tell what will get me fuming, if they choreograph a penalty in the last 10 minutes so that Hibbert gets the chance to score.

What would piss me off would be if he scores a penalty in this game, then later scores an actual goal in the league - it just wouldnt be as good...

Haha.

I'm not saying you're going "yay he's so lucky". I'm saying that he's been lucky in my opinion and so celebrating his longevity when for him he's never really had better offers, and at times hasn't been up to the standard of other players in the team, just seems a tough ask.

Loyalty and longevity is what you're all celebrating. And all I'm saying is that it's all so contextual... if Hibbo had been offered twice as much to play elsewhere would he have left? Most definitely. The only reason he's lasted ten years is that he's just about good enough to be good enough, but he's never been good enough to move on.

I feel like I've woken up in a weird parallel universe were Hibbo is some sort of deity.

Like every player in history ever.

I also fail to see how playing 300 times and having your own 'When Hibbert scores we riot' is not making an impact on your club.

Is he a world beater ? No.
Is he going to help us win the league ? No.
Has he done his best for 10 years wearing the shirt that we all love ? You're damn right he has.

This should be a chance to celebrate and look back on his time at the club, and to watch a good game of football in the process. He's a good guy and i wouldn't begrudge anybody who has played for Everton for a decade the same experience.

I also don't get the last line of your post at all, nobody has said anything of the sort and you're twisting people's reactions and what they think to fit your own personal opinion, which is never a good thing !

You don't actually know that.

I don't actually know that the current explanations of gravity are true. I suppose it's possible that tiny, invisible pixies hold us all down.

You don't actually know that that's not the case.

But you can use your brain and a bit of logic, and you'll probably come to a decent conclusion.

Whatever people think of him, he was immense, in fact would go as far to say best individual performance of a player this season in a game, when we played Man City.

With all their striking riches, he was an absolute beast at centre back
