Testimonials are not about your level of skill, they're about your service to the club. Let's not turn the thread into a debate about whether he's good enough or not please.
I really don't think Tony Hibbert deserves a testimonial.
I actually like Hibbo, and I think he's better than most say.
However I just don't see 10 years of service as something deserving of merit, in his case. It's not service, so much as highly-paid employment for his boyhood club without ever even being one of our best players.
I'll reiterate: I like Hibbo, but I don't recall too many testimonials for blues. Did Dunc even get one?
Ferguson didn't play for us for ten years.
You don't see it as being of merit, but that's not really relevant at all. Testimonials are for players who have served any club for ten years, doesn't matter whether you play for Rhyl or Barcelona.
Tell you what mate if you say good old Hibbo who loves the club with all his heart does'nt deserve a testimonial then you must not support Everton cause is Hibbo is not just a player of a club he is a servant.
My Dad reckons it is AEK Athens because it is something to do with Manolas cause he plays for them but who knows?
Weir will play, ssie is a defanant, Jeffers maybe? Killbane? Dunc? Lets wait and see
Ferguson did. Not in one spell, but he was here from 94-98, then 00-06.
That's not my point though. It's just that to me testimonials are for truly special players. NOT talent wise, I just mean those who've really made their mark on the club.
Tony Hibbert isn't really that guy. For most of his time as our RB we've all said we'd love a better RB.
I don't mean to be a misery guts. I'll be going to this and I'll no doubt enjoy it, but like I said I can't remember the last time we had a testimonial for a player. It just seems odd that it's for Hibbert. Will Osman be next?
