The queen was a lady i had a lot of admiration for. I found her visit to Ireland in 2011 to be a very moving and emotional occasion for some reason. She's lived a good life though.

It was the queens ability to make every person she met, no matter their position or rank in life feel important and better about themselves, that impressed me the most about her. This really is the end of an era.

I have actually met Prince Charles so technically I have met the King.

That's something I suppose...

Lycra with advertising has me giggles, some nowhere near professional cyclist, bulges and shapes that defy physics.

I agree. Her last visit to the States in 2007 came a couple weeks after the horrible shooting at Virginia Tech.
She took the time to meet privately with the grieving families. That always struck me as a model of compassion and service
